How often does someone genuinely get to just sit and contemplate and think about things? It's all up early get ready for work/school/college, while there most are just wishing their day away so they can be back home, then they get home and time with family, eat, shower, some social time with kids then sleep rinse repeat. Tell me this isn't a robotic existence that billions live everyday. 3) All the thinking it done for you now google, the news. In fact questioning and individual thought is frowned upon. So the brain is getting lonely up there, we're disconnected from it and when we do think it's usually a worry. The part in an I psychopaths brain that doesn't light up is responsible for decision making, Social behaviour, personality expression and emotion. Why is this happening? Society shapes behaviour our emotions and personality. Plus those things shape our decision making. The news worries us as does the government and the media in general.keeping us afraid (by design) It becomes too much to handle so we disconnect from our emotions and become emotionless, as our brain is overwhelmed by the negative emotions. Our personality expression is usually shaped by culture aswell. If the culture is degenerate and full of bad habits and violence then it will be reflected in our personality and behaviour. I genuinely believe the mass shootings in America would greatly reduce if the shooter received no coverage or airtime. TL;DR I'd argue that our brain is evolving to adapt into our current society. Fair points though it's debateable whether we're "evolving" (that takes eons). More a case that we're laying down some of the worst neural pathways as a result of the way we've organised our world. Some years ago I was encouraging people to be critical of published works and one member of the group stated openly she admired anyone who wrote a book and felt unqualified to make suggestions or critical comments.
