These things are never finite, but there are not many other James Adam (with no middle name) born in 1931 in the UK, let alone in April, so I'd go along with that. There is one other Robert Bruce born Q4 in Islington but... The chances of there being two Robert Bruce's born the same day and both still being alive aged 95... I'd be inclined to say it's the ex Orient man. Octopus of Odstock 2,195 Posted March 9 Roy Martin, born 1929, ex-Birmingham and Derby player, died 'earlier this year' - a Facebook post refers to his funeral being 31st January, so one would presume it was just after turn of the year. https://www.facebook.com/story.php/?story_fbid=893533109439287&id=100063478180019&paipv=0&eav=AfbEKro5lWqg811trmjSYQMGdK4OCKc77fenX7GL7ECpl6Y03hAJ0S0QNhCYiQkzS0M&_rdr
Octopus of Odstock 2,195 Posted March 11 Lincoln City's official historian has put the oldest 10 living players. No surprise re. Killin and Harbertson, but this confirms Ray Bell (b. 1930), who played just one league appearance is dead. Unlike some of the other poorly researched soundbites from clubs, this is a long-time historian, so I'd feel pretty confident Bell is dead.
Octopus of Odstock 2,195 Posted March 11 One for @Ulitzer95 and @michael featherstone Whilst scrolling through a few names for 1933 etc., Alan Rushby, born 27/12/1933, ex-Bradford PA, Mansfield, and Doncaster is this man on Director Check. The same town is listed on The Gazette's deceased estates webpage so I am pretty confident it's the same man.

Ulitzer95 12,587 Posted March 12 Interesting feature on the BBC today about Frank Foster, 91 in June, who is still an active FA referee! Mad watching him run up and down the pitch at that age. Also played for lower league club Bamford in his youth.
YoungWillz 21,039 Posted March 14 Former Wolves and West Brom player Gerry Summers reportedly dead: https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/2024/03/14/former-west-brom-player-and-wolves-and-walsall-coach-gerry-summers-dies/ Also reportedly West Brom's oldest (then) living former player, so I don't know how that affects @Octopus of Odstock's lists. Although he reported dead on Wiki, he is still currently listed as a living person!

Master Obit 830 Posted March 19 @Octopus of Odstock Richard John Pearson's death was registered in Q3/2023 Seems to be this one: https://funeral-notices.co.uk/notice/pearson/5126002 - he must have just been registered late.
Octopus of Odstock 2,195 Posted March 19 @Chriswba West Brom Geoff Barnsley is definitely still alive - only played one for WBA, but is a legend for Plymouth, born 9th December 1935, so at 88, he's the oldest. Aston Villa There is someone with a Villa link over 90 still alive ( I believe) - Dave Richardson, who was a coach during Graham Taylor's era, Definitely alive in 2017, born 11th March 1932. Peter McParland, the legendary Northern Irish striker, is the oldest living Villa player, born 25th April 1934. Jack Willis, who played once, is apparently still alive, born 28th May 1934. Bill Beaton (1935) appears to be alive; definitely was in 2015. 2
