If Nelson QOs, that's a first hit for my US chartoppers theme team.

Bit interesting that three of four Teddy Bears had a noted musical claim to fame wholly unassociated with the group (Spector is obvious, Connors with the Rocky theme, and Nelson with his solo drum hits).

For any passing @Gooseberry Crumbles, if that pace kept up across the year, the record would be broken by about 100. Highly unlikely of course, but if it did, DI would be referring to me as Calvin Coolidge for the rest of time... :D

A Whiter Shade of Pale would be "play us out" worthy for me most other years. RIP...

Updated. Odd. Just hours ago I compiled a list of people over 90 who had stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier (away to post it in the Hollywood thread), and she was on it.

Could this be a Company Directorship for Nicky Tesco @Ulitzer95https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/d5rpFyzfxbFsKmWyH99NJotAP7c/appointments

December 1944 birth would fit in. Maybe a full press obit will reveal - I'd frankly be astonished if he doesn't obit.

I’m not convinced. Everywhere online says he was Lightowlers, not Lightowler. Either way, no matches in the birth records.

Looking at his Facebook, it would seem like he had blood cancer for several years so definitely a DDP miss given that it was all in the public domain.

There's a post on Tesco's FB from 2021 with a picture from his wedding day and he says "33 years today", so yes, this info is definitely correct. I can't get access to the record because it's NI, but at least we have the year confirmed now!

Also, no idea what I just did to the format on my post

Updated.

@YoungWillz, birthday is 3rd October as per this post on FB, so he was 66. Presumably the guy on Twitter is just rounding to the year as he doesn't known a birthdate. Bandmate JC Carroll posts here that he died on Friday so 25th Feb...

"Nick Tesco left the room on Friday after various battles with different illnesses. Nick had not been well for a long long time but he battled his disability and he never complained ."

MC Skibadee, probably the guy you think of when it comes to doubletime on drum & bass tracks, being reported dead on Twitter. Can go here thanks to his vocals on Shy FX and T-Power's seminal "Don't Wanna Know," a favourite of football highlight package soundtrackers back in the day, which got to #19 in 2002.

I was reading @Death Impends marvellous obits on the DDP and did a double take as she brought to my attention that Gary Brooker was in The Paramounts and therefore this entry needs a wee update.

Right, here goes.

So there's also this

"Anonymous said:
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but KEVIN ROWAN known to his mates as DAN moved to BOSCOMBE DORSET some years ago and has now since died. He was a good friend and will be missed greatly." (July 2013)

FREEBMD: Kevin G Rowan, birth registered Sep 1963 in Liverpool North.

GRO: Nothing. No persons called Kevin Rowan with a birth year of 1963 have died since our last knowledge of him being alive (that reunion show in 2008). So he didn't die on British soil, unless he changed his name.

Ancestry: Electoral register from 2010 Kevin G Rowan b. 1963–1965, living in Bournemouth, Dorset. Ah ha! So he was alive in 2010.

So if he died, why did that anonymous poster say "some years ago", if he was alive just 3 years prior?

Also, that Aussie obit gives a spouse's name of Karen. Now, there are no records in the UK of a ROWAN, KEVIN ever marrying anyone by the name of Karen. Regardless, I don't believe he just up and left from Bournemouth at some point, moved to Oz, got married, fell ill and died within the space of just a few years. I just don't buy it. It just seems like someone is putting the cat among the pigeons to me. I'm more inclined to believe the comments saying he's "alive and well" or "I saw him the other day". Maybe just wants to be left alone.

If anyone knows where to access an electoral register subsequent to 2010 then we may get absolute confirmation that he's still alive and that YouTube commenters are pulling our leg or simply confused/misinformed.

My second choice for my exit music out of the cup was Our Kid.

The discussion above on Kevin Rowan fizzled out. Still alive and living in Bournemouth in 2015, I think @Ulitzer95 indicated the GRO may have been updated, could we revisit this?

He's not in the GRO Index up until Dec 2020, but I can go one better than that. He's still alive and based in Bournemouth as of 2022 (as per 192 People).

I wasn't too familiar with 192 when I did the 60s/70s entries. I've updated the entry for Our Kid with a note at the bottom clarifying that Rowan is alive (though I never marked him as deceased anyway as I strongly suspected the comments online declaring him dead were from a hoaxer).
