This is for top 10 singles, though.  Did they have any?

Their first, Don't Stop Believing, hit #2 in the UK charts in February 2010.

Halo/Walking On Sunshine hit #9 also in February 2010.

Total Eclipse Of The Heart also reached #9 in May 2010.

Not Top 10 hits, but how did they manage to get 147 singles into the charts? :o

I'll have to listen to them all at some point, ffs.

Looking at this list:

Following were top 10 in numerous countries (my itunes still has a shit ton of their songs):

Season 1

  • Don't Stop Believin'
  • Somebody to Love
  • It's My Life / Confessions, Pt. II
  • Halo / Walking on Sunshine
  • Gives You Hell
  • Like a Prayer
  • Total Eclipse of the Heart
  • Jessie's Girl
  • Bad Romance

  Season 2

  • Teenage Dream
  • Singing in the Rain / Umbrella
  • Loser Like Me

S3 - None as highest a few songs got was No11. S4 they either didn't chart high enough or didn't make top 200 etc. It gets complicated after S5.

This came to a shuddering halt round about 2003 @Spade_Cooley.

Can certainly add Mark Sheehan of The Script to the list here.

Hey, some people did sourdough during early lockdown, I did this. I promise if we ever get another global pandemic, or I'm confined to a hospital bed for a week or so but can still use my arms, I will finish this off.

Well, Tomcraft aka DJ Tomcraft, aka Thomas Bruckner has bitten the dust, as posted by @Book.

#1 Loneliness, UK for one week May 2003, tumbling to #4, #5 and #9 before exiting the top 10.

Ah... Seth Binzer/Shifty Shellshock of Crazy Town, 2001 #2 with Butterfly, should also be mentioned here. Died on June 24, 2024.

So how many 90s/00s/10s DJs with top 10 singles have we lost in recent years?

Avicii – 28, suicide
Robert Miles – 47, cancer
Tomcraft – 49, (cause to be determined)
Guru Josh – 51, suicide
Dario G (Paul Spencer) – 53, cancer

Who's next? Tiësto? Armand Van Helden? Armin van Buuren?

Definitely not Armin, he's a clean-living well adjusted family man.

Looking like Liam Payne will be added to this list both as a member of One Direction and as a solo artist for his 2017 single 'Strip That Down' which reached No.3 in the UK.

Sad, sad news.

And you could also (sadly) add Sarah Harding of Girls Aloud, Tom Parker of The Wanted and Paul Cattermole of S Club 7. A lot of big 00s/10s British groups have lost a member recently.
