Yes he is, at the back there!

Pseudonym? I thought that was how you really signed your checks. I'm crushed. I have to confess, while on Holiday last year, the constant signing of bills at our Hotel did lead me to signing various bills as M. Mouse and Ivor Biggun, to name just two. If it happens again this year, i shall sign away as Lord Fellatio Nelson, ok?

Yes he is, at the back there! That, of course, was the photo to which I was referring

He looks superbly well, almost as if he hasn't aged in 60 years.

"That must be an old photo ....." Best part of this comment is that he isn't in the photo AT ALL - old or new.....!

Jiroemen Kimura dead at 116 http://nymag.com/dai...est-person.html. R.I.P to a legend Seeing his former schoolmate and childhood friend die might be enough to sadden Mick jaggers heart and have him keel over in the next year so.

Predicting the death of the Australian Labour party Davey??? Personally I became disenfranchised with them when KRudd was deposed as PM, the entire thing has remained stagnate since then (the only + is the ongoing royal commission into child sexual abuse in state and religious institutions, which should have happened decades ago anyway) However the recent event of ordering the navy to call off the search for an asylum seeker vessel that sank a few days ago off Christmas island, Then not to recover the bodies they did find, just made me angry - not that I'm an angry person mind. This just seems to be a total disregard for human dignity in this situation. anyway that's my soapbox moment...back to posting funny "share a coke with..." names I didn't really mind the fact Rudd was deposed. To my cynical mind, that is just politics, with everyone stabbing everyone else to get to the top. It was the same when Keating knifed Hawke and people didn't make such a big fuss of it back then. They have painted themselves into a massive corner though - they can't backflip and go back to Rudd and they would be seen as flip-flopping if they picked someone else like Combet or Shorten (they probably want to save those guys as long-term investments for future PM. Giving them the job now or immediately after the defeat will be offering them a poisoned chalice). It is far too late in the day now to do anything. Maybe they will grab Rudd in the hope he will bring across just enough votes to save a few more seats. I totally agree about the asylum seeker thing though - I am absolutely disgusted by that. Also, the growing US military presence in the NT revolts me as well. Of course, none of this will change under Abbott and will, in fact, probably be a hell of a lot worse. Abbott still seems to be Howard's puppet to me so it will be a step back to the old days. The only really positive change from Julia is the Gonski legislation, if she can push them through. I actually think she was a good Education Minister and should have stayed in that role, pushing much-needed reforms through there. No Labor won't die, just the Gillard Government - let's face it, there is no new party to replace it (can't see bloody Clive Palmer or Mad Hatter Katter filling the void and they are both fairly-right leaning anyway) but it will take a long time to rebuild. It is the same here in QLD after Bligh was annhilated by Newman. Even though Newman is as arrogant as hell, it will take years for the ALP here to rebuild. Anyway, agreed that is another politics for one day. I will have to have a look at the Coke bottle thread, too.

The thing is, even though I have 12 hits and 95 points, I don't feel at all confident about winning or even finishing in the top 10, such is the strength this year. When you look at the leading challengers, there's not really enough of a cushion. Godot, I'm sure would excel in my left brain thinking, but here's how I see the challengers; OoO's remaining picks: Bryan, Suarez, Porcaro could go any time. Granger, I think, will go before 2014, but she's putting up a hell of a fight. Athaiya appears to be recovering, Fielding was recovering but has been suspiciously quiet recently, whereas Ian Farmer, who has cancer, has sold all his shares, quit his job and not been seen since he quit last Summer. I still expect perhaps 3 of them to go, whilst if Pardee is going to happen, it won't happen until the NFL season is back. Going Underground (11 points behind); Bernie Nolan is likely to be my big miss. GU has picked her. Edrich seems to have things under control, likewise Frederiksen and O'Neal. Fowley is a good pick and one I think will pass away, Kyoung-hui is intriguing, Castro, Bush and Madeley don't show signs of immediately going, but could quite reasonably pass away. Katherine Crowe, I felt, was a long-term terminally ill, i.e. late 2014/early 2015. The Living End (13 points behind); Still the one to fear. However, Farmer and Granger are both picked by myself. George is in remission, so that's a blow for DDT, but Daniel, De Bruin, Jardine (especially so), Jaruzelski, Mandela (on death's door, it seems), Misch, Price are all quite likely, whereas Crowe has already been mentioned. Thomas Jefferson Survives (15 points behind)- bar DDT, I think the most likely. Jardine, Nolan, Jaruzelski, Superstar B.Graham are all likely hits. Al-Assad probably not now, I think he'll find a way out of it. Borgonovo is likely to go, but obit chances?, Franz not sure about his health, Gadaffi seems to be on the land of the living for now, Clive James I think should be here come 2014, whilst Thorson was Spade Cooley's trick gambit. David Quantick's Showbiz Pals (24 points behind) - Spade has Jardine as his joker and this is why he is a serious contender. Duff, Mandela, Kalashnikov, Pran are very good picks, Young too, but there is the obit factor with him. Although Spade also has Pardee, he's gone for Metsu and Buell - the latter seems better, the former less so. But it all hinges on Jardine. Daniel Faraday's Notebook (26 points behind) - has two really good picks not already covered, Rubin Carter and Joost van der Westhuizen. Other picks not mentioned already are Dole (seems better now), Marshall (hard to make out really how ill or not she is) and Robbo. Also picked Buell, Crowe, C James, Jardine, Nolan, Pardee and Thorson, a strong line up. Heading Nowhere (26 points behind) - Has Rex Barnett but he seems recovered and obit chances are dubious (see Dennis James). Woodhead is not as vocal as before so could be a good pick, Hallenga seems blessed with her battle, but for how long? Chopper Read seems okay now, but likewise if some of his bollocks is true, he's a goner. Also picked; Bush, Crowe, George, Superstar Graham, C James, Jardine, Nolan, Strassman Golden Slumbers (29 points behind) - At the moment, the last of the main contenders, but I would say any of the top 20 would be contenders potentially - the trick is getting two obits - Dennis James & Pardee. That would reduce the deficit to 20 points straight out. Selebi and Willis are excellent picks, Mackintosh & Ford I'm not aware of, Granger has been picked as well. Borgonovo and Carter are already discussed, Buell is the joker and the key to Golden Slumbers hopes of winning - if Pardee and James get obits and Buell dies, serious, serious contenders.
