Recent report on CNN that Dr. Jack Kevorkian (Good ol' Dr. Death himself) is "gravely ill", suffering from high blood pressure, osteoperosis, and Hepatitis C. He's "gravely ill", but we've heard that before about the likes of one Ronnie Biggs. Kevorkian was denied parole and should he ever obtain parole, he'd likely commit suicide shortly after getting out of the big house.

The ever-tasteful VH1 is airing a show called Celebrity Rehab. One of the 'contestants' is washed-up actor Jeff Conaway (Grease, Taxi), who has apparently attempted suicide 21 times (eight paragraphs into the article). While his cork-popping abilities are clearly on a par with his acting skills, he seems like a right drug monkey and could be a possible candidate for an earlyish demise.

Country singer Ferlin Husky has been hospitalised suffering from congestive heart failure and pneumonia. His 1954 single "The Drunk Driver" about an intoxicated man who runs over his two children, is considered to be one of the most miserable songs of all time. This awful accident occurred on the 20th day of May And caused two little children to be sleepin' beneath the clay These two little kids walked side by side along the state highway Their poor old mother, she had died And their daddy had ran away As these two little children walked arm in arm How sad their hearts did feel When around the curb came a speeding car With a drunk man at the wheel The drunk man saw the little kids And he hollered a drunked sound "Get out of the road you little fools" And the car, it brought them down The bumper struck the little girl, takin' her life away While the little boy, in a puddle of blood In the ditch, lyin' there did lay The drunk man staggered from his car To see the damage that he had done And then he let out a yell you could hear for miles When he recognized his dyin' son

It would seem that Emlyn has started a trend for other footballers to follow - get yourself a brain tumour. Well, it makes a change from buying a pub. http://slam.canoe.ca.../715821-ap.html We'll have to wait and see if it's going to be a red card for Dean. DWB

I found an article about Ron. It is a bit long-winded but worth a read if you have 5 minutes. http://www.pioneerlocal.com/cgi-bin/ppo-st...-04-267656.html For those who don't have 5 minutes here are a few quotes about his life. This bloke must have the constitution of an ox - but it has to catch up with him eventually. We should keep a close eye on him! DWB

Perhaps this should be in topic The Dutch. There are strong rumours that Harry Mulisch (83), a Dutch author fairly known abroad, is suffering from cancer and near death. Mind that earlier reports of his impending death proved somewhat exaggerated. regards, Hein

I've always wanted to come up with a name that fellow DeathListers think is worthy of consideration. I've checked this chap isn't listed and I give to you... Graham Crowden 30/11/1922 in Edinburgh - so he'll soon be 84. Most people remember him from Waiting For God, where he played the slightly-mad Tom - and he looked old then. He was still working at the turn of the year, but his blustering style could help him to an early grave. Surely he is worth a thread to keep an eye on him?

Maybe not 2010, but I'd pencil him in for 2011. Simon MacCorkindale. He used to be in casualty.

I was wondering if Miep Gies is a good candidate for the 2005 list? During World War II she protected Anne Frank and her family by hiding them in a secret annex above Anne's father's shop in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She saved the diary that made Anne Frank a household name. What do you think? Best wishes, Mich.
