I tried looking for one yesterday. Nothing.

By way of a diversion, when I came to update the database for Bob Newhart the other day, I got an error message saying "This app can't run on your PC".

Anyway, following much googling and head-scratching, I think I've fixed it. I shall find out next update!

(Newhart & Reardon were updated via laptop, so even if it turns out I haven't fixed it, there's another way, just takes so much longer!)

If my joker Beccy Barr dies (20 points) I only need that QO for Cavanagh to come through and tiebreak won't be an issue...:P:ninja:

I also have Rantzen and Kamolvisit.

I think only 3 of the top 20 still have jokers in play.

Beccy Barr QO: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13659395/BBC-presenter-TV-career-firefighter-dies-battle-cancer.html

I had the feeling that Beccy was near the end. Once a serial tweeter, she barely posted anything after the 1st July, just one small tweet re. US fire fighters.

She had said she was told she wouldn't make her birthday in September.

Although I am now just a Chuwit Kamolvisit death away from taking the lead, like with Rob Burrow, I take no joy in this hit. Sorry to see her go.

I make a poor deathlister, I've only heard about this on North West Tonight just now. Really sad, Beccy was a really sunny personality on North West news bulletins, and clearly fit, healthy and active. Cancer really is a bastard sometimes. Rest in peace, Beccy. :(

I think we are going to have to consign DONALD SCOTT to the list of the lost

Annoyingly Donald Scott gets a Scotsman obit: https://www.scotsman.com/news/people/scotsman-obituaries-donald-scott-scottish-rugby-internationalist-and-pe-teacher-4712507

That doesn't count afaik, so we wait on The Herald playing catch up.

This sufficient for Ken Palmer? https://uk.news.yahoo.com/tributes-paid-somerset-cricket-legend-145339854.html

If so, this should be sufficient for Yvonne Furneaux, no? Yvonne Furneaux QO: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/yvonne-furneaux-actress-fellini-la-190759703.html

Edit: But this should be: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2024/jul/24/yvonne-furneaux-obituary

Sorry, I missed the Yvonne Furneaux yahoo link yesterday (but saw the Guardian link earlier),

Just checked the top 25 - both my maths and handwriting might be slightly out but these are the most picked of the top 25.

However, it's more likely it'll be the ones picked solely by one top team that might make the difference - so the likes of Matt James, Elmore Smith, James Carter Cathcart,  Steve Gaines, Eddie Annand, Charlotte Raven, Andy Taylor, Adrian Sutton et al could still be the difference.

Of course, the other, albeit unlikely factor, is an obit for Joe Shannon or Kieran Cavanagh.

McMichael 21
Rantzen 19
Tilson Thomas 18
Whale  18
Carter 17
Burrell 15
Murray 13
Nolan 10
Starmer Smith 7
Mutombo 6
Maxwell 6
Godley 6
Caveney 6
Jensen 6
Doering 6
Flack 6
Caprio 5
Bart 5
Darby 4
Wilis 4
Hilland 4
Kamolvisit 2
Wallace 2
Lundgren 2
Scolyer 2
Linden 2
Lee J 2
Neill 2
Baker T 2
Ashton 2

@Octopus of Odstock - the factor I'd considered to have the most weight was the jokers yet to be cashed in.... it is wide open as there are still 157 days left.

Jokers awarded – many Jonnie Irwin and Rob Burrow; one Derek Draper, one Becky Barr, one Shannen Doherty

None of the top three have Theo Burrell.

Jokers Outstanding

Rank runner (current points) – joker (points)

=8 Going Underground (101) – Craig Maxwell (20)

15 2025? No thank you! (97) – Theo Burrell (26)

18 I will not die… (95) - Theo Burrell (26)

=23 Droller Coaster (88) – Jimmy Carter (16)*

=23 The Love Boat (88) – Steve McMichael (22)

=23 Tombstone Ticklers (88) - Jimmy Carter (16)*

*caveat - falls to 14 if he makes 100 (insert joke)

Regarding low point D40 potentials.  A low score D40 (Carter, Chomsky) hit gives 8 points.  And another hit aged 30-69 and that’s another 10 to 8 points, so 16 to 18 points.

I’ll blame your handwriting for this one.  I thought it odd that he wouldn’t be picked by the top 25 runners.

Chomsky (4 picks) 4th place It’s a Grim World After All (105), =20th place Day in the Death (91), 22th Carkers Convention 2024 (89), =23rd The Love Boat (88)

True, although McMichael and Carter's jokers are negated somewhat by sheer numbers of people picking them, so they wont make the final difference.

Although Barr was worth less points than Burrow, Irwin, Draper and Doherty, arguably it was the biggest gain overall due to just 1 other of the top 25 picking her (20 point gain, compared to 13 for Burrow and 12 for the other three).... If this makes sense?
