drol 12,769 Posted February 29, 2024 Thread for classic Hollywood actress and iconic Hitchcock blonde Tippi Hedren. 94 and reportedly suffering from quite advanced dementia. DL-worthy in terms of fame. 14
livingbygrace 600 Posted February 29, 2024 wow I had no idea she did not have her own thread yet. She has been on many lists that I thought for sure she would have. I put Vera Miles in the same category as Tippi. Both within a year in age and playing in major iconic movies. Tippi in the Birds and Vera in Psycho. Actually when I saw the thread I thought there was some news not realizing it was a brand new one
FinalChapter 78 Posted March 4, 2024 A little-known fun fact is that Tippi Hedren did a lot of work with resettling Vietnamese refugees in the 70’s and 80’s and at one point got her manicurist to teach a group of them how to do nails. Those of you across the Atlantic might not be aware but today almost all nail salons in the United States are operated by Vietnamese immigrants, and we have Tippi to thank. 3 1

DCI Frank Burnside 3,952 Posted January 21 Looks great. Could easily pass for someone in their early 80s
MrWonderful 498 Posted January 21 I put her on my list but yeah, she doesn't look too bad to me. Could still happen at her age, but there was probably a better usage of a spot.
Steve 748 Posted January 21 Might look ok for now but we are not even at the end of January so still 11 and a bit months of 2025 to go and she could go downhill very quickly as I have experienced with a family member with advanced dementia. She was smartly dressed and looked physically good but died within 15 months of the dementia being advanced.

My great nan was diagnosed at 95 and didn't last a year, it seems to progress a lot quicker the older someone is.

I'm genuinely sorry to read that @Bendee87. At least she didn't have to suffer for long or at least I hope she didn't with that horrible disease.

Thanks Steve, it was many years ago now. Yes that was the upside, Especially for my nan that she didn't see a gradual decline over a period of years.
