Deathrace 2025

Dead pooling dish of the day

The entries came so thick and fast that I just logged and listed them. Now I'm looking over the masterlist I'm assuming the Hazel Chinnery on that list entered by @Bibliogryphon is probably Hazel Chinery, i.e., the artiste better known as Teddie Beverley, the last surviving sister from the close vocal harmony trio who were a British entertainment institution for many years. 97 years old and showing no particular interest towards getting involved in dance remixes or other ill-advised updates of the timeless catalogue. Whatever she busies herself with whilst maintaining a low profile, it'll make no odds in the end. Hazel/Teddie remains - as us experienced poolers like to say - obitable as fuck.

Yep that's the one

Another deathless Deathrace day, another dainty Deathrace dish, this time a unique pick from @TheKillingTime. You may remember Adriane Asti from such timeless classics as Duet for Cannibals (1969) or Action (1980), though likely you won't remmeber her at all. Either way, she's 93-years-old (though clearly a mite younger in the photo below) and packs a CV rich in award success and regular employment, albeit in a way Italians are likely to know better than any other nationally. That said, by their standards she's obitable as fuck and agreeably this comes from a country so well-connected that many of its news sources offer English language (and therefore Deathrace points) options.

At least I got a hit with LePen so I will not be 100% skunked when the winner is announced :D

Well at least I get out of the starting blocks in this pool with a hit with Jean-Marie Le Pen

Two hits in one day for me now in this pool following the death of Peter Yarrow although I am sure many more candidates are going strong today too..

Le Pen and Yarrow give me 1074 points, by my calculations (358 each plus another 358 as Yarrow was my joker). This puts me over the 2025 points threshold, which may also be the case for others, too.

I think the final score is tie-breaker there, which means you win.... Congratulations!

So far as I can see it isn't the case for others and the top end looks like this. Feel free to check the maths but I'm fairly sure we have ONE winner here, unless another significant death emerges

Summer in Transylvania - 2167

Drol - 1816

gcreptile - 1448

An Fear Beag - 1447

Book - 1444

RadGuy - 1444

Sean - 1439

Not that it matters all that much but I believe my score might be 1,074 instead of 1,064... if I have two hits today plus a joker I believe 358x3 is 1,074?

Double checking the overall score I make it 2167, anyone else feel free to triple check

Either way, as of close of business tonight only one person is over the line, and that by a serious margin

Clearly, tradition dictates that we wait for late notification to arrive of the demise of any other low hanger who may have carked and remain currently unreported. Provisionally Summer in Transylvania has put in a stunning seven days of dead pooling, less provisionally we're looking at a total that will be hard to surpass by anyone other than @drol, so the question is whether anyone on that Drol team posted above ceased breathing around the time Peter Yarrow left the stage.

Feel free to keep congratulating @Summer in Transylvania either way because that's a brilliant performance and I'm pleased to see a winning total hereabouts before the DDP 2025 scoreboard goes live :)

@maryportfuncity if you get two hits in one day do you still only get one set of points?
