Guest TheProfessorJohn Posted April 2, 2005 VATICAN CITY — Pope John Paul II (search) was in extremely grave condition and near the end early Saturday, after apparently losing consciousness just after sunset. The pope "is on the verge of death," Cardinal Javier Lozano Barragan, head of the Vatican's health care office, told the Mexican television network Televisa. "I talked to the doctors and they told me there is no more hope."
Cerberus 302 Posted April 2, 2005 Apparently there is going to be an update from the Vatican in the next half hour. But if he had died, wouldn't they tell us straight away? They wouldn't keep us in the dark surely?
Guest Guest Posted April 2, 2005 the update came and went..still no change in his condition..another update at 5pm GMT..get ready for a long wait....

Cerberus 302 Posted April 2, 2005 How do you do those italics? I tried once and it didn't work. Also, I tried to post the link from the Telegraph (see, I need italics there) about Patrick Moore and couldn't work out what to do. Something came up about MY WEBSITE and I just panicked and clicked on "home". Pathetic, I know.
Boudicca 702 Posted April 2, 2005 These italics? I just highlighted the word and hit the button. The HTML tag should show up in the preview box. That's damn scary about your website coming up. I'd panic too!
Markusdragon 0 Posted April 2, 2005 This is a solemn moment for the deathlist. It's greatest dodger, it's most excellent escapee is finally about to kick the bucket and head off to the great big vatican in the sky. So, if this one lasted the longest ever, are we about to have one that dies after just one year again?
Guest Pope Sweep Posted April 2, 2005 Come on Pope, hang on another 5 hours and 12 minutes and I get the sweepstake!
Typhoid Harry 23 Posted April 2, 2005 John Paul Two is looking blue and green and white and pasty too. In fact, for those who prophesy it's almost time for him to die. He served us well in robe and miter Just to pull this last all-nighter. Goodnight, God bless, oh holy one As papal meat you're almost done. With beads pressed firm inside our palm We say goodbye from Deathlist.com

Boudicca 702 Posted April 2, 2005 In the interest of fairness, the next Pope will be called George Ringo I. According to Sky, (I know ), the Pope is responding when addressed by aides. I wonder if he's telling them to stop with the hammer?
Tuber Mirum 125 Posted April 2, 2005 With beads pressed firm inside our palmWe say goodbye from Deathlist.com I suppose if "food" can rhyme with "blood" the "palm" could possibly rhyme with "com" but it's pushing poetic license a bit far isn't it Typhoid? Good poem though.

They're all fondling their rosaries ang praying like mad. For what? Are they hoping he gets better?
