does it really matter? all you need to know is they were the oldest person in the country.but if you must know they were about the 80th oldest person in the world.they don't live long in Poland

Yeah actually it does, dipshit, because the whole point of world's oldest people is that we all go "wow" at the number of years that they've lived. You wouldn't see a 110 year old person trying to get media attention for being really old but saying to the media people "Er, it doesn't matter how old I am actually."

Prick!

It'd depend how dark it was and who could see. If it was daylight then yes I'd have to settle for calling you a prick.

Peruvian Woman has been confirmed as being born in 1897 https://uk.news.yaho...89.html#vr9E6TK

Where the bloody hell does it say that?

Whoever wrote that article is very bad at maths:

"Born December 20, 1897, Filomena Taipe Mendoza is only three months younger than Japanese Misao Okawa, who is the world's oldest person according to Guinness World Records and the US-based Gerontology Research Group."

(Misao Okawa was born in March 1898)

So that increases the no of people born in the 1900s to 6 and the no born in the Victorian era to 16. It really should be going in the opposite direction !

No it doesn't. The Peruvian woman, likes hundreds of others, is just a claimant. She hasn't been verified.

well let's just hope that if she is ever verified that 1 or 2 from the oldest 15 will have gone. It's soul destroying when you wait months for someone to drop off and the list only grows bigger :banghead:

Given that the oldest man in Britain has chosen to remain anonymous (he's 109) will his death actually be reported?

Probably, and he can't sue them for naming him once he's dead.

Oldest American "celebrates" 115 years. It's worth a click on the link just to see the picture. What does a bad day look like?

You can't have much of a party when all your friends are dead...

Just seen her on CNN, wearing an Anderson Cooper cap and talking at length about her life .. She's going to celebrate her birthday by going fishing.I reckon she could challenge JEanne Calment for oldest person ever. She certainly isn't going to die any time soon !

She don't sound as good as she looks.

Well she is 115. She's hardly going to be running marathons! For 115 she's bloody good though!

The American actress Lee Chamberlin died at 76 http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Actress-and-Playwright-Lee-Chamberlin-Passes-Away-at-76-20140529

Why post it here?

Because daddy is still alive at 112 , or 103/4 according to https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/big-league-stew/bernando-lapollo-111-old-yankees-fan-cannot-prove-133852303.html Bernando LaPollo

He is classed as an author after writing a book at 100 and still blogs, so will be obit worthy.

He's definately not 112.That would make him the oldest man in the world, and that is currently Alex Imich who is only 111

Bernando Lapallo says he was born in 1901.

The 1930 and 1940 census says he was born in 1908.

The 2006 listing says he was born in 1909.

The US public records says he was born in 1910.

Take your pick. He's selling longevity products so all the more reason to inflate his age.
