Ideas and Possibilities for 2006

Recommended Posts

i just registered and also dont have time/courage to read al the 74 pages, but i think

rudi carell, (wiki) is good try for next year. He's a Dutch comedian, who's also very popular in germany, ans as you can read in the dutch wiki, they've found a terminal long cancer in 2005 whick makes it impossible for him to speak.

A good shot for next i think

His English wiki is a bit lacking... perhaps MH could tell us if he'd pass the famous test?

Well, by the DL-rules (an obit in a UK-newspaper) he certainly wouldn't pass the test.

When will the new list be made public?

Well you either wait until the 1st of January, or you bribe a moderator.

Or kill a whole bunch of celebrities and see if the mods scramble.

Can they be bought?! Hmm... Think of all the possibilities! It would grant me the power to block people, to delete or edit their posts... People would shiver!

My top tips for 2006 is Val Guest, the Will Hay and Crazy Gang scriptwriter who will be 95 next year. (Val is male by the way, which you may think could make him a better bet).

Also Norah Baring (Early Hitchcock heroine) 99 next year.

And Edmundo Ros, the master of the Latin American beat, who will be 96.

My other two top tips which I mentioned on the forum, Constance Cummings and Kay Walsh, have both died.

If I was to pick just one, I would go for Edmundo Ros. He is truly ancient, bandleaders seldom have healthy lifestyles and normally die in their 60s or 70s and he will have prominent obits.

Closely followed by Val Guest.

Good luck with the list.

I supose its too late to consider Robert Sargent Shriver?aged 90, Was Govenor for California and had lots to do with with Kennedys, Married Eunice Kennedy, J.F.'s sister. He is also father-IN-law to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now is in his 90's and has had Alzhiemers for some time. Suppose i am too late with this consideration?

I suppose I do look a little haggard in that picture but, then again, I always sort of did.

In truth, it is my tribute to a man whom I considered a fine actor. I haven't been so saddened by a passing since Mr. Dangerfield, but at least we could claim a point for DL with his passing.

Did I ever mention how I used to dream of running up expenses on an American Express card as a way of tribute to Mr.Malden?

The 2006 list is nearing finalisation - and if all works to plan automatically goes live at midnight on 31 Dec/1 Jan - (Never quite worked out if this is server time or local time  )

An excellent and well considered list, damn it I'd forgotten all about Mark Felt, wish I'd put him in my DDP team now.

I'm guessing Lou Rawls is going to be on a lot of DDP lists.

I'm surprised Estelle Getty didn't make your list, perhaps in the stead of Captain Beefheart or Herbert Lom?

Beefheart is a good old fashioned guess. With Christmas and that, I could

have done with more time to consider the 50, so I concentrated on the DDP 20.

Is she not well then?
