Banshees Scream 110 Posted October 8, 2005 I always knew the scream of the Banshee meant death so i suppose that was my reasoning for the choice of this name. My first thought and favorite for that matter was "Grim Reaper" but since that name was allready takin i went with choice number 2. Though back then when i created the name i doubt i saw myself making 767 posts "So Far" in counting. Everyones name is what it is. This thread is like thinking about money growing off grandfather trees. It's a pleasure to think about but the truth is it isn't reality. And it's a similar situation with the changing of the names. themaninblack 2,112 Posted October 8, 2005 themaninblack has many connections: Death, Satan, Johnny Cash and The Stranglers. There was a radio actor in the 1950s who was called 'The Man in Black' as well...

Windsor 2,235 Posted October 8, 2005 windsor is my online name in most places and so it was also used on deathlist. I use it because of my interests in monarchy, Windsor being the name of the current Royal dynasty. (I didn't think Saxe-Coburg-Gotha was all that catchy)

Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted October 8, 2005 Death Watch Beatle. Slightly more interesting than Death Watch Beetle. Don't have any particular liking of the Beatles, more a Rolling Stones man myself. Let's hope it's McCartney next. DWB
Windsor 2,235 Posted October 8, 2005 I'll stick with lower case, it works for me. Although I must admit that since 'the authority' commented that lowercase was best because it reflected my level of importance, I have thought about changing it . Don't worry, come Monday millwall will poll the members to see what they think (its been a while since his last poll).

Cerberus 304 Posted October 9, 2005 I reckon quite a few people select their name in haste and regret it later. Absolutely! I was originally Pining For The Fjords (not exactly catchy) before I lost my internet connection and forgot all my passwords, so it was easier to re-register. I don't mind my name now, but my wife thought of a much better one shortly after I joined - Mr Macabre - which has now been taken, by a non-poster Only trouble with a name like this is that it's a bit limiting, avatar-wise, though I may branch out into non-dog related images before long
Paul Bearer 6,124 Posted October 9, 2005 Originally started posting as deathmiester down the library, so I wasn't really able to go through the joining process, then it was one of those 'in haste' things after I got a computer. Don't really regret it too much now. I was going to change it to something else, but another member beat me to it.
Slave to the Grave 26 Posted October 9, 2005 I don't really like mine very much, but it was all I could think of, it was a line from a Muse song which was playing at the time. I suppose it's topical and having worked my way up (very slowly) to the rank of 'Shipman' , I'm not about to change it. I think I'd like to be something a bit shorter, like Bob. MyBrainHurts2 4 Posted October 9, 2005 My name is something I've been using since I first hopped online 8 years ago. At the time, I was a senior in college and working full time at a Funny Farm. Between all that and having watched Monty Python since I was 4, and MyBrainHurts was taken, MyBrainHurts2 was born. People get a bit of a kick out of the name, so I've kept it over the years. Yeah, my brain still hurts from time to time.
merlfox 0 Posted October 9, 2005 I have been using my username for some years now. I have thought of several mods to it, but I'm quite fond of how well it turned out. My first username that wasn't my ordinary name was simply "Dragon". However, it didn't work out for long... Simply because it was too common, too many people were using it already. So I changed it to Spagon. Which lasted a year, then was abandoned as well. merlfox, however is ultimate I believe it qualifies as a pun. merlfox consists of the name of "Merlin", the famous magician, and the animal "Fox". Merlin since I am fascinated by magic and tend to go with a magician when I play RPG's and a fox to show that I rely upon brain rather than brawn. I guess the username also describes my personality since I am a rather calm person and like to ponder upon things... There it is. My life story.
