Putting together a DL Cup team meant not mentioning this one.  He made it onto three teams, but it’s possible he didn’t make the starting gun.

Brooklyn Rapper Nas Blixky, whose real name is Nasir Fisher, has reportedly been shot in his head and is currently in critical condition.

Sounds like a big pile of disinformation, but here ‘tis.

Brooklyn rapper Nas Blixky is alive after a gun ambush last week that wounded him in the back and legs and left him determined to abandon his stage name, his family says.

Blixky — whose real name is Nasir Fisher — decided that the price of laying tracks about guns and violence and dissing rival emcees on bass-driven beats is much too high, say relatives.

_____________

For starters, the body parts are wrong.

Second, he isn’t making any statements, which he could easily do if he was shot in ‘the back and legs’ vs ‘his head’.

A talented teen fatally shot in a parked car on a Brooklyn street is the most recent in a string of rappers targeted from the drill rap scene, family members said Monday.

Jayquan McKenley, 18, who performed as Chii Wvttz, was ambushed early Sunday as he left a recording studio in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Saga continues.  Police release a video of the person about to shoot Nax Blixky.  The accompanying story does quote the rapper and it would appear he is indeed going to recover.

The Miami hip-hop scene has lost a number of artists to gun violence, and they are mourning the murder of another another rapper following a tragedy earlier this week. Police in Miami-Dade are apparently looking for the assailant who shot rapper Baby Cino, actual name Timothy Starks.

Cino was an ambitious rapper who aspired to be the next big thing in the Florida hip hop industry, but he was gunned down just minutes after being released from jail, according to sources. Cino, 20, was released from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after being detained for 24 hours on a firearms charge,

American rapper who was shot on the 18th of march, Goonew, was « honored » yesterday in a club where they put his dead body on stage and danced around him

makes me think of the Victorian tradition of post mortem photos such as this one (try to find the dead girl in it)

According to reports, Atlanta rapper Archie Eversole is dead at the age of 37.

Eversole, who was famous for the 2002 hit "We Ready," has no cause of death.

The song and a Bubba Sparxxx remix have both remained a popular pre-game hype track.

Updating his cause of death:

According to the police report ... Archie told cops someone had kicked open his bedroom door and he was awakened by a gunshot to his face on March 25, but he couldn't see who shot him. Archie was rushed to the hospital and died April 3 ... police say his brother, Alexander Krause, was the shooter.  He has been arrested for murder.
