Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted January 7, 2007 What a strange thing - earlier on this evening I was cursing at the news that Evel Kneivel was was deaths door, because I had dropped in from my DDP at the last minute in favour of Mr. Magnusson. Funny old world aint it? Still, should of had both in there really. DWB

Vinegar Tits 606 Posted January 7, 2007 Thanks Melvyn for the tip-off for my team's first hit of the year! Sad that he has 'pass'ed though for, as others have already said, he was a bit of an icon.

His cancer was diagnosed on his 77th birthday last year. Not the greatest birthday present. Nope, but if he'd died on that self-same birthday it'd have been a points bonanza for deadpoolers on a couple of lists.

harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,689 Posted May 4, 2008 I was considering entering Sport Mastermind but then realised I'd have to read up on some specialist subjects, and I'm way too lazy for that. But I reckon OoO (F1/Footballers on the Verge of Death), Maryport (Carlisle Utd/Fiery Crashes), Handy (TT Races), Ronnie (Wisconsin Sports Teams/Twenty20 Cricket) and DDT (Tractor Pulling) should send in an application form... Doesn't seem quite the same without Magnus, though.

But I reckon OoO (F1/Footballers on the Verge of Death), So was I, funnily enough. But it's not enough to just name your specialist subjects, you have to provide sources, back-up material & proof for your subjects. f**k that for a lark. My specialist subjects would've been: sh*t footballers of Reading FC (a toughie because there's been so many, including most of the current squad) The Formula 1 Career of Formula 1 Drivers with a surname beginning with Q There's only 1. He only did 1 race.
