Sir Creep 7,070 Posted July 19, 2023 Ed Bressoud, who died last week at the age of 91, was one of only two players to ever wear the uniforms of both the New York Giants and the New York Mets. The other? Willie Mays. (Possible coincidental death alert!!) However, it was with Boston that Ed’s career really took off. He played with the Red Sox from 1962 through 1965 — finishing in the top 30 in American League MVP voting twice. In 1963 he was voted the team MVP, and made the All-Star team a year later. Ed Bressoud died from cerebellar ataxia — an inability to coordinate muscle movement due to disease or injury to the cerebellum. SC (Note the spelling error ‘Broussard’ on the coin below, which has made it somewhat valuable).
