Ed Bressoud, who died last week at the age of 91, was one of only two players to ever wear the uniforms of both the New York Giants and the New York Mets.

The other?  Willie Mays. (Possible coincidental death alert!!)

However, it was with Boston that Ed’s career really took off. He played with the Red Sox from 1962 through 1965 — finishing in the top 30 in American League MVP voting twice. In 1963 he was voted the team MVP, and made the All-Star team a year later.

Ed Bressoud died from cerebellar ataxia — an inability to coordinate muscle movement due to disease or injury to the cerebellum.

Twitter is reporting that Mike Ivie, who played for several teams, most notably the San Diego Padres in the 1970's has died at age 70.

Takashi Miura was born in Yono City, now Chuo Ward, Saitama City, and died at the age of 45 on July 24 and played baseball for Yomiuri Giants and Saitama Seibu Lions, In March 2022, he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, dedicated himself to treatment with radiotherapy and surgery, returning to work and training in March 2023. However, his health deteriorated again in June of the same year. His physical condition remained stable for a while, such as visiting his alma mater's game at the Saitama Koshien tournament in the summer, but his condition suddenly changed in the early hours of July 24 of the same year, dying on that date.

Jim Price, who played five seasons with the Detroit Tigers in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was a part of their 1968 World Series team, has died. He was 81. Price later became a radio and TV analyst with Detroit.

Alex Cole, who played 573 games combined with Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Colorado, Minnesota and Boston, from 1990 to 1996, has died. He was 58. Cole was known for his speed and stole 148 bases during his career.

Hyeonbal Jeong  was born in Daegu (South Korea) and died on September 20 at the age of 70, the former baseball player played for Samsung Lions, Cheongbo Pintos and Pacific Dolphins, he died of an acute cerebral hemorrhage at approximately 3:48 p.m.
