I came in at 11/23 Out There Olivia.

That was unexpected because I'm quite a cautious person as a general rule.

Also 15/23, but I don't drive and therefore couldn't answer the driving questions. The one time I did drive at high speed on a country lane when I was 14 was quite risky, however.

Yeah, I don't use hair straighteners but I did once leave the house with the iron still on and was away for a week.

Fortunately it wasn't my house. :D

How many of the 272 London underground stations can you name? https://london.metro-memory.com/

No spoilers below please. I know 38% at the moment.

How big a risk taker are you?

I'm an Out There Olivia with 15/23.

Go for it Gary 19/23.

Though leaving the house without an umbrella and a fair number of the others don't really seem to me to be exactly Evel Kneivel level risks so I don't think I'm that mad.

I can actually name all of them, rather shamefully.

I don't drive and don't wear hair straighteners so a number of these don't apply to me so I can't get an accurate result. Optimally, risk quizzes should include scenarios that everyone can encounter. Also, who checks their bank balance before every purchase? Everyone should know their rough bank balance at any point so either you know you comfortably have enough, or you know you probably don't have enough.

Holy crap really? This is borderline autism surely? :D.

I lived in Barnet (not actually the station name) for 3/4 of my life probably and can thus name all the northern line to central london, and the same for the Piccadilly line. A good deal of Central London also - but after that it all rather falls apart.

Additonally, as with all of these type of quizzes, the exact name is often not quite the same as the colloquial one (hardly giving anything away with Kings Cross as an example here, and terminal # this or that).

You could do worse than try North, South, East, West, Central, Broadway and Park to any area you can think of :lol:

ETA: it's also a bit inconsistent, there's some overground lines but not others, even half of the WAGN services out to the North (eastern branch, I'll not name the stations) but not the other half (western branch). Still, it's diverting for a while.

It's more than borderline, it's very clear-cut!

LOL nobody wears hair straighteners ! It's an electrical appliance. You can also get the opposite, curling tongs or crimpers.

For the purposes of the question you could substitute any electrical appliance that heats up, hence my comment about an iron.

Disclaimer: I very rarely use an iron.  On that occasion I was going on a work trip where I had to wear company uniform, so had to iron some shirts.

I think I got confused with curlers. Those are the things that come in a box and you curl your hair around aren't they? In any case, I don't use these sorts of things.

The link says I got 69 stations which is 11.9%. Not bad for someone who hasn't been in London this century. Though the need for exact names scuppers guessing!

I'm at 42 actual names, which i make 15.44% of 272, but the site says 17.7%

Spoiler

I used to travel regularly between Paddington & Victoria, but couldn't remember any of the stations en-route, nor indeed the station i used to catch the tube to get to Paddington (Farringdon), despite doing the journey for well over a year (was over 20 years ago though).

301. There might be a few more I can dredge up but after that it would entail some form of cheating whether directly or just looking at google/openstreetmaps for towns and districts to prompt my memory.

I'm actually fairly amazed at that given that some of these lines are little used overground loops and distant end of line suburbs not frequented by anyone but residents thereof.

Since 301 is actually more than 272 I can only surmise their method of counting stations more than once if more than one line connects to it is skewing the percentages somewhat .

I'm up to 200 and 34.4% by their counting.

Update: final score
