Lech Walesa ill in hospital, in need of heart transplant apparently. Hope someone can show some solidarity with him.

This should be in ideas & possibilities

American conservative writer William F. Buckley has died at the age of 82. A unique DDP hit for Noz4news if a UK obit emerges.

Here it is...

Boyd Coddington (American Hot Rod) is dead at 63. Cause of death is listed as complication as a result of a recent surgery, but are sufficiently vague to leave some questions. He was a long-time diabetic as well.

Bloody hell, that raises some possibilities, like they reattched a severed foot back to front and he walked around in circles for three hours before collapsing and expiring because he couldn't get to his insulin.

Or does anyone else know different.

I knew Boyd but hadn't seen him in years. With apologies to his fans, he was a complete asshole. He made his name taking credit for the work and talent of others and treated his people like dirt. Good riddance in my book.

Dave Clark was the drummer, but it was his band. In the same way U2's lead singer is Bono but it's Larry Mullen who

put the band together and 'leads'...

Unhinged "preformance artist", "Zen Communist" and "avant-garde terrorist", Dorothy Podber, has died at the age of 75. She once pulled a gun on Andy Warhol. Her Telegraph obit is worth a look, just to see the old girl in all her finery.

Joseph Juran, pioneer of quality control who revolutionized how companies around the world made and sold products and who was even the author of the "Quality Control Handbook" and has been quoted as saying Never be without a project,' and he never was," is dead at the result of a stroke at the age of 103. :)

A unique hit for 'Godot's Waiting List' if he gets the obituary.

Publisher Anthony Blond confessed that his career had been "flawed by intemperance, volatility and quarrels". Still he lasted to seventy nine and was a guarantor for Private Eye's bank account so can't have been all bad.

I like this bit - Arthur Daley would have been proud:

He also commissioned a ghost writer to prepare the memoirs of Jo Rosenberg, Lord Beaverbrook's last mistress, who had not been given the standard payoff of £20,000 customary for Beaverbrook's ex-girlfriends, and was looking to get her own back. When these proved too libellous to be published (Blond reckoned that the book's "scabrous detail of Beaverbrook's hanky pankies (and spankies)" would have cost him £10,000 a page), he recouped his losses by selling the manuscript (via Beaverbrook's great-nephew Jonathan Aitken) for £20,000 to the Beaverbrook Foundation "for their archives".

Jonathan Aitkin - what family loyalty; such a loveable chap.

Les Humphries Finally couldn't bear to hear his music himself....

Didn't he pretend to commit suicide a couple of years back or something? Anyway, another Eurovision-related death, though he didn't actully appear on stage with the Les Humphries Singers back in 1976. Sing sang song indeed...

2. Jeff Healey - At only 41 Healey is winning the fight as he has done many times before. One might say the risk is worth the profit but in my view the probability is not very strong.

Excellent insight in to the dangers of lung cancer there, Banshees.
