DevonDeathTrip 2,348 Posted June 10, 2008 Chinghiz Aitmatov, Kyrgyz writer & ambassador, is seriously ill after renal failure. To quote Wikipedia: On 16 May 2008 Aitmatov suffered kidney failure and was admitted into a hospital in Nuremberg, Germany, where he is reportedly in a coma. The latest is that he is "stable" but "in a grave condition". Earlier link Not sure how famous he is, but I suspect he would get an obit, especially if he might be nominated, as is rumoured, for a Nobel Prize. He has died (According to his Wiki page)

TAFKAG 70 Posted June 17, 2008 Cyd Charisse has danced her last. I wonder if ex-DL candidate Tony Martin, her husband for some 60 years or so, will die shortly as a result... That's sad, in a there-goes-another-tradition way. Cyd was was one of the greatest hoofers of all time, next to Tony Adams.

TAFKAG 70 Posted June 19, 2008 Rt Rev Graham Chadwick them high profile clerics get an obit every time! They sure do, especially if they're called Chadwick. This time it's theologian (that's near enough to a cleric for me) the Very Rev Prof Henry Chadwick. Before long it'll be the Rev Owen Chadwick - the team that have him as a DDP unique pick must be gutted that's it's his younger brother who's been called to account. Banshees Scream 110 Posted June 20, 2008 Brewster Yale Beach, a man who outright proved that the Associated Press existed two years before anybody knew about it, has died at the age of 83. Yes, the Associated Press is reporting his death. Basically he said it originated in 1846 instead of 1848. He reported that the Associated Press was around earlier then we all thought and now they are reporting his demise. It's back and fourth. Yeah, that's what he did.
