Octopus of Odstock 2,186 Posted May 15, 2008 I am just doing the DDP update now - there's a 4th name to add to Gantin, Sheikh wotsit & Rauschenberg - that of Frith Banbury, theatre director. He was picked, uniquely, by some also-ran. Said also-ran is quoted as "a bit peeved he didn't die one (or 10) day/s before".... Obit
TAFKAG 70 Posted May 16, 2008 Old school Hollywood agent and publicist Warren Cowan is no longer taking or making calls. Former US president Ronald Reagan often joked that if Mr Cowan had done a better job of promoting his acting career, he would never have been forced to find another career in politics. A man with much to answer for.

harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,684 Posted May 20, 2008 Sad news as Walthamstow dog track, one of only three (out of 33 at the sport's peak!) left in London, is to be bulldozed in the summer. It hasn't been the same since they shut down Charlie Chan's last year. Might have to pop along one last time before the August closedown.

TAFKAG 70 Posted May 21, 2008 Margot Boyd, the actress who played Mrs Antrobus in The Archers, has died at the age of 94. TDF beat you to it by about 2 hours. /\ I see that Ms Boyd was one of the Denville Hall crew, a sort of thinking person's Brinsworth but a place of equal mystery as to who the f**k's in there till they leave in a box. Do we think that Denville has chosen a snow-covered scene to make it appear more Chekhovian, darlings?
