AC/DC

Recommended Posts

AC/DC The Exhibition is on the road. The only European stop is Scotland, Angus and Malcolm Young were born in that 'desert wi windaes' suburb of Glasgow - Drumchapel and Bon Scott came from Kirriemuir in Fife. According to this it will be running at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum for the next 3 months.

I'm going next month with a bunch of old friends, some I haven't seen in over 20 years. It will be strange to actually see them inside the museum and not in the park next door where we spent many a July weekend in the 1980's getting pissed and heckling up and coming bands like Bon Jovi in true Glasgow style at the Kelvingrove Festival.

Time to buy a new map, methinks.

So Bon is from Angus, but Angus isn't.

No map needed just a bit of Googling. Apologies, I don't know the north east coast of Scotland very well at all I am afraid. I had managed to wipe Angus from my memory after spending a lot of weekends visiting Dundee many years ago when my ex was at Uni there. He lived in a terrible student flat right across from a pub where every weekend it turned into the 'Karaoke Central from Hell' complete with the patrons bashing the lights out of each other on the pavement outside his flat at 1 a.m. No Fri/Sat/Sun night was complete without the arrival of the emergency services.

Early bass player Neil Smith. He's also the fifth ex-Rose Tattoo member to have died of cancer since 2006 - were they the house band on The Conqueror?

No idea what The Conqueror is but Rose Tattoo were a notorious Australian pub band. The lead singer "Angry" Anderson is now notorious for his involvement in conservative politics and appearing on trashy tabloid current affairs shows. Oh, and he is also infamous for

. Note the black guy at 2:52. :D

BTW, Rose Tatto's drummer is in big trouble for being a weapons smuggler: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-04-01/three-arrests-in-western-sydney-over-gun-supply-ring/5358986

AC/DC are to split as one unnamed member is suffering from health problems....

Now they are to play on: http://www.abc.net.a...s-break/5396282

If he'd copped it, I'm thinking Back (Again) in Black, would've been a worldwide smash.

Malcolm Young update: http://www.theguardi...e-brian-johnson

"‘He's in hospital but he's a fighter. We've got our fingers crossed that he'll get strong again,’ Johnson says". - That doesn't sound like he's exactly brimming with confidence.

""We're done. I'm very excited and we've got some great songs. I wanted to call the album Man Down. But it's a bit negative and it was probably just straight from the heart. I like that," Johnson said." - About as cheerful as Back in Black.... :P

The situation hasn't got much better for Malcolm. The band officially announced he won't be returning due to his condition: http://www.bbc.com/n...t-arts-29345368

One to keep an eye on for 2015?

Website isn't confirming the illness. I'm guessing some cancer or other. Does anyone on here know more?

I'd heard he'd had a serious stroke originally. Rumours abound he has terminal cancer though.

Well, he can afford it.

Knowing the targets would be nice :)

Does this mean we can't listen to AC/DC anymore or does that moral backlash thing only apply to nonces?
