May 30:

Fuck me it's a busy fucking day today!

Joan of Arc (and where the fuck is Arc?) - 585 years

Milton Bradley - 105 years

Max Carey - 40 years

Perry Ellis - 30 years

And a ton of big names that don't follow the structure so will have to wait their turn. That said, I always pay tribute to Indy car driver Eddie Sachs who died this day. I peed in his lap when I was a baby (as if I needed to clarify that).

We shouldn't forget Confederate Ranger, John Singleton Mosby, who became the The Gray Ghost for good this day 100 years ago aged 82 (or maybe we should).

It was her surname D'Arc, from her father. There isn't a place called Arc (there is an Ars). Presumably her dad was an arch builder or was found under one or maybe just was.

François-Marie Arouet (better known as the philosopher Voltaire) died on this day in 1778 aged 83.

"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him."
He didn’t drink apparently.

Bona queen of fabularity Danny La Rue died on this day in 2009 aged 81.

My boyfriend and I saw him in Hello Dolly at Blackpool Winter Gardens in the early 80s and as we were sitting in the front row he kept picking on us with his nudge nudge wink wink remarks.

Won't name names and never recalled this event but apparently the heir to the throne of Nepal killed himself and nine family members 15 years ago June 1. Bizarre

Always good to remember when fascists get retribution; 70 years since Ion Antonescu received the decision of the people's tribunal aged 63.

I'd never heard of that before. Interesting reading.

IIRC that heir became the king himself for a few days because while the family members got killed instantly, he himself lingered in a coma for a few days.

I only remember it because they cut away from the 2001 election night coverage to mention this had happened.

Kathryn Joosten died on this day in 2012 aged 72.

She was probably best known for playing Mrs Landingham in The West Wing and Karen McCluskey in Desperate Housewives.

Joosten died of lung cancer on the morning of June 2, 2012, after an 11-year battle with the disease. Coincidentally, her death occurred twenty days after the onscreen death from cancer of her Desperate Housewives character, Karen McCluskey. Poignantly, viewers in the United Kingdom first saw her onscreen death the day after her real life passing.

I didn't realize she was dead (or had lung cancer for that matter). The Housewives gig does nothing for me but when u said Mrs VanLandingham I knew that immediately.

Kaufman also co-wrote the Broadway shows Cocoanuts and Animal Crackers for the Marx Brothers, for which I'd say he deserves the addition of a photo.
