Death Anniversary Thread

After this day 225 years ago Mozart went shopping no more, aged 35.

I'm missing the pun but it's all good. I love Mozart but figured someone posted before I could get here.

I see some composer named Karl Amadeus Hartmann died this same day -- 53 years ago -- the closest that Karl ever got to Wolfgang.

Sticking with the fine arts, Claude Monet - 90 years

Emil Fuchs, brief owner of the Boston Braves (and Babe Ruth just prior to retirement), and let's face it a good excuse to write the name Fuchs with sophomoric humour - 55 years.

Shoeless Joe Jackson; banned from playing because of alleged involvement in the Blacksox Scandal, a charge he denied, he is still on the MLB ineligible players list denying him entry to the Baseball Hall of Fame, final ground-out 65 years ago today.

The pun is Python. I'm sure Cat can embed the relevant link if needed. 😀

Where to begin---though I see it's begun already.

Let's not forget

Alfred Nobel got the prize of death - 120 years ago

Luigi Pirandello would win a Nobel Prize (literature) - 80 years

Pitching great Walter Johnson - 70 years (same day as Runyon)

And has it really been 14 years since we lost Ian MacNaughton? Jeesh
