Of those the only one I'd be interested in is Casablanca. I know this is an old post but do see the original: The Great Escape - the motor-cycle Escape scene with Steve McQueen was ground-breaking for that time period and he did his own riding. A young Charles Bronson, McQueen and the other huge stars are rare to see in one film. I suggest you see Mary Poppins twice. See it, then see Saving Mr. Banks (with Tom Hanks, who is actually related to Mr. Disney) about the author of the Mary Poppins books and how Walt Disney persuades her to let him film it. Most memorable song is Feed the Birds - animal protection, which was rare for those times. Then see it again. (Children like the film and Julie Andrews is wonderful in it.) Sound of Music really does showcase the singing voice of Julie Andrews - maybe just listen to the sound track on YouTube of the music. The story, like in Casablanca and Great Escape, are propaganda, so take it with a grain of salt.

Feeding the birds was always a popular pastime when I was a child, whether it was ducks on the pond, city pigeons or a bird table in the garden. Mind you, they tell us now that bread isn't very good for birds.

gcreptile 10,972 Posted June 1, 2018 Still haven't seen The Last Jedi. It played in cinemas for months, and I was kind of interested to see it. But just not interested enough.

Clorox Bleachman 2,434 Posted June 1, 2018 It was quite good. Not my favourite film, but I thought it did a good job of answering most of the questions that the end of Episode VII brought up. Although it's obvious that they were well into post-production when Carrie Fisher died. It's like they made the film and then added in as many CGed scenes with her as possible. For that reason the final film is looooong.
