Wasn't my day earlier. Mis-spelling the name of the city was a bad start, and I didn't think he was there.

I'm starting to get the impression that you can't believe a word the NTC says.

It was reported that Gaddafi died of his wounds whilst being transported to hospital.

It now seems he was executed and dragged through the streets of Sirte.

Euphemism can be a marvellous tool.

We all know he was captured, tortured, executed and Then dragged though the streets. They are just saying he died in air strike or shot in legs to make out the NTC aren't into torture etc.

Gaddafi IMO was a vile human being you only have to look at how his family treated other human beings to see the father's beliefs and his beliefs . I also believe gaddafi spent a lot of money in the islamification of non Islamic countries. He when out in the right way IMO how many people did he torture and kill?

good riddance to bad rubbish.

Once again those Arab types don't think about those of us who do deadpools. Couldn't they have captured him and then waited until January 2012?

But on a less selfish note, good riddance. Even if I did appear on breakfast television back in 1986 due to him.

Death in 2011 has no standards - I admit it.

For those who doubt the event of death in it's improbable and unpredictable, nevertheless festive form, I think today you accept that it's choosen pattern will accumulate similar results in the near future and possibly even in the distant. Abdelbaset Al Megrahi anyone?

I think the thing that most surprised me about today was that he was still fighting in Sirte, something I thought he wouldn't do and had long fled for safer climes. If nothing else, I'll give him credit for sticking to his word of "I will fight for Libya or die trying".

Anyway, as part of the news analysis, they spoke to a Libyan PM pre Gadaffi - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mustafa_Ben_Halim - Mustafa Ben Halim, now aged 90. I must admit he sounded very healthy, but for all those depressed that the choice of Libyans for their 2012 DDP Libyan theme team is dwindling, there is one chap to still consider.

Oh great joy it is to see such a repressive, ridiculous regime now cut asunder. To see the delight on those faces, chanting "God is great, God is Great" makes one

think that perhaps there is a God after all...

Oh is this about Gaddafi? I thought everyone was reacting to Westlife splitting up!

Rejoicing is tempered by the sure knowledge that they will have a 'reunion tour' in a few years time.
