WSJ reports that Assad nowhere to be found and as previously noted he missed his expected address to the nation. He’s been trying through back channels with the USA to cut a deal to ditch Hezbollah and Iran if Western powers back his regime. Desperate last pleas. The rebels have just taken Al-Qusayr which means the last proper road between Damascus and the coast has been captured.
