And for the 2012ers out there....let the mocking, ridiculing and sarcasm commence

ITDY 20 Posted July 10, 2012 If it were true, what difference would heading for the bunkers make? Lol my thinking exactly yet end of the worlders are stockpiling supplies and it seems that fallout shelters are selling like hot-cakes. Time for all good capitalists to start flogging the gullible "shelters" and parting the fools from their cash. Although admittedly it does seem to be mostly Americans in the documentaries about the end of world survivalists.

our Sydney 11 Posted July 10, 2012 Correct my logic here but, if the "end of the world" does happen, how are you going to know? surly by definition as we all are part of "the world" in the sense referred to by these doomsday merchants when the world ends so will we. . . Therefore we won't be around to say "gosh how interesting that was the end of the world" Or did I miss something? Best regards Syd

And for the 2012ers out there....let the mocking, ridiculing and sarcasm commence Have not given much thought to it. We will likely get a first sign in November with the election here, although it could be argued that if the Olympics golds only go to athletes from countries who have names beginning with letters L, A and C that that may in fact be the first sign and the election would be the final warning. If it were true, what difference would heading for the bunkers make? To have a nice place for spending eternity. We don't know what things will be like and we may be in need of nourishment and slumber chambers. And you will notice we have done quite well with our survivalist skills. Do you think trashy television shows such as Survivor are just a coincidence? They are designed to let people know that we can survive even in the harshest of conditions. (provided of course that there is an island for exile) - wasn't there supposed to be an internet apocalypse on Monday, one that meant to plunge us into the dark ages again??? There was and still may be. The FBI among others was planning to shut all systems down which had been infected with the DNS Changer virus. Many servers took measures to keep things functioning but it's unknown how long this may last. There was ? When it comes to apocalypse's I tend to have to finger on the pulse and I never heard anything. Sure this wasn't an apocalypse only you knew about and only only you planned?? cmon you can tell us ? Yes there was. Chanticleer had announced it three or four times in news events in the Rose Garden. Here you find more: Behind the Threat: FBI Internet Server Shutdown - ABC News use whichever search engine you favor to learn more. Since there is a supposed Internet shutdown at least 4 times a year, most people have stopped giving it any regard. Keep a virus scan going and in most cases things will be safe. Correct my logic here but, if the "end of the world" does happen, how are you going to know? surly by definition as we all are part of "the world" in the sense referred to by these doomsday merchants when the world ends so will we. . . Therefore we won't be around to say "gosh how interesting that was the end of the world" Or did I miss something? Best regards Syd Since the Mayans didn't really explain what they meant by the end of the world it could be any number of things. Since the Mayans ate a fair amount of corn products, and since the price of corn has recently risen dramatically due to a dire drought, this may be the end they were referring to. At any rate we may well be around after the 'end' has come, we may be hurtled into outer space or collected by inhabitants from another planet seeking our superior knowledge....or maybe just planning to have us work their fields and frolic with their kinfolk before roasting us up as Klakamoghs Festival food. time 8,623 Posted December 20, 2012 The Mayan-forecast 'end of the world' is due tomorrow. The Guardian has produced a video explaining the prediction. This is part 1. Rather disconcertingly, there is no part 2.
Bibliogryphon 9,589 Posted December 20, 2012 I understand that if the world ends tomorrow God has bookd Jim Bowen to stand with all the atheist before the pearly gates and when the swing open he will speak the immortal words "Here's what you would've won"

Paul Bearer 6,109 Posted December 20, 2012 ONCE UPON A TIME IN A MAYAN CITY, SOMEWHERE IN SOUTH AMERICA. MAYAN CITIZEN: Hello Geoff, how are you getting on with that calendar? MAYAN CALENDAR WRITER: Good thanks Bert, I'm up to December 21st 2012 already. Should be at year 3000 next Friday. MAYAN CITIZEN: Thats great Geoff, what are you up to just now then? ... MAYAN CALENDAR WRITER: I'm just having a 5 minute break, my Nana found this funny plant with pointy leaves in her garden. No one knows what it is so I'm gonna see what its like if you smoke it! And that is why the Mayan calendar stopped at 21st Dec 2012.

Magere Hein 1,400 Posted December 22, 2012 From the facts that 21 December 2012 has passed throughout the world and that I am typing this, we can conclude that the executive branch of The End Corporation[1] performed to expectation: piss-poorly. I don't blame those poor Mayan astronomers for this abuse of their somewhat overblown calendar system. As this was about the sixth time I've survived it, I expect the next End of the World as We Know It to be announced soon. [1]Fully owned by Fleece a Flock, Inc, a joint venture of New Age Heavy Industries, San Francisco USA, Mammon Financial Services, Vatican City, Golden Calf Investments, Jerusalem and Prophet Enterprise, Mecca. regards, Hein

CarolAnn 926 Posted December 23, 2012 My family decided that the reason the end was nigh was because it was the day after my birthday and so at 12:01am central time I would decide I didn't want to be 47. At that point, I would manifest in my true form as some demon or anti-christ or Cthulu other highly destructive thing and wipe everyone out. Ultimately, I decided I didn't want to clean up the mess afterward so I decided to let you good people live. All tribute can be sent via UPS.

Cowboy Ronnie 78 Posted February 6, 2013 Alright, enough already, I can't take it any longer. I saw the documentary about the "discovery" of "the body Richard III" on Channel 4 last night, and I am calling bull-$hit. At least until there is some corroborating testimony in respect of the DNA evidence, which wasn't presented at all during the programme. What are the odds that this particular skeleton actually was Richard III? Several thousand to one, at best.

Am I the only person to be quite excited by this. We went to visit the dig site and were looking forward to the conclusion of the tests. There were problems with the documentry, especially the lady from the Richard III society, but if this is Richard it is an important find and brilliant publicity for Leicester.
