Did the Nkomo obit turn up?

Surprised I have a unique pick. Len Goodman of all people.

He just got married and keeps going on about looking after old people (i,e, Not Him)

More to the point, his mum is still alive, so at least half of his genetic material favours him for a few more years.

I have three unique picks. I figure it's because they are already dead.

So that's a definite "NO!" on having Huffing Post obits count then?

I'm not entirely sure that she's dead.

Although virtually unknown, you'd expect more than a single obit from the Huffington Post...

Some one close to her would've come out and said otherwise by now.

The person, who is pictured as "Koto Okubo" is not Koto Okubo...

That's Chiyono Hasegawa, formerly Japan's oldest person, now dust...

I'm sorry, but I was looking for a picture of Mrs. Okubo for months...

Seems interesting, that a person, who lived for 116 years found no moment for a nice picture....

They may have done if it was widely reported - but it hasn't been.

The amount of times this happens. You look on Google Images, see the name you're looking for in bold and save the picture. Then turns out to be somebody else!

EDIT: On the other hand, here is a page which suggest that it is her...

[i'm not entirely sure that she's dead. Although virtually unknown, you'd expect more than a single obit from the Huffington Post...

I must admit, I did wonder briefly if Windsor was right. No RIP messages on her Twitter page, no update on her Blog or website by the family/charity, and not even a local press obit. But the Huffington Post wouldn't have kept the story online if it was in error. And then, eventually, I found this....

On Behalf of Jo's family:

To all of Jo's friends we are deeply sorry to say that Jo passed away peacefully on Saturday morning in Lincoln Hospital with her family by her side. She fought bravely until the end and will be remembered by us all with much love. The Family. 14th Jan 2013

An immediate obit is unlikely as no other media, once again, has picked up the story of the death, rather than the fight, but there's a whole 11 months left of potential fundraising activities in her name that may just get a mention somewhere down the line.

Fucking Hell!!!!!!

I only picked her because I thought everybody else was going to. In the end surprisingly few did.

Don't we have any contacts in the media?

I should email the Daily Mail to tell them I need the obit to win some points. I'm sure they'd publish an article to vent their outrage!

Maybe run a story about you being a sicko and never say her name...

That would never happen. The Daily Mail would have to name the poor darling to get credit for bashing the odious Troll.

Toyo Shibata is summat of a sideshow. The Michael Winner points bonanza should set the DDP scoreboard alight!

From that (and a few more obits the Independent posted) I conclude that it's not time to give up hope for an obit of Gerard Helders yet. 17 days and counting, though.

regards,

Hein

Yes it needs to be the co.uk website to qualify...

Well technically it is a co.uk obit. Note the URL.
