Alberta Watson, Actress of La Femme Nikita and 24, dies. http://globalnews.ca/news/1897540/canadian-actress-alberta-watson-dies-at-60/

Hmmm. Just checked and she played the head of CTU in my favourite season of 24. Thought the name sounded vaguely familiar.

Wow it's a long time since I've seen it, those early-2000s series must look so out of date now, what with non-smart-phones, older computers and government agents who put a higher priority on stopping terrorist atrocities than raiding your phone for nude selfies.

I'm afraid the Canadian Government have brought this on themselves by granting him citizenship. Like most governments they don't realise the consequences that will follow. He might have been just another ten-a-penny Jamacian, but no, here he is, drowning and getting himself on this thread. It's not for me to question :smileyd:

Robert Walker, nominated for an Academy Award for Brother Bear in 2003 (losing out to Finding Nemo) and who worked on several animations including Mulan, dies at 54. http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/obituary-ottawa-animator-bob-walker-was-nominated-for-academy-award

I am the only one who finds the concept of heart attacks disturbing, think about it you could suddenly die at any moment of heart failure. Anyway I am rambling and off topic but my heart goes out to his family and friends.

I had a heart attack in January...yes it was disturbing, but speedy NHS services saved me. 48, no health issues, not obese or anything, just happened. You never know.

As a single man who reads about heart attacks doing DP I think about it all the time as in 'should I really have an access code on my iPhone' 'should I dead bolt the front door'' thinking about it. But you are getting all Hollywood, as heart attacks come in many forms with few being the chest clutching drop dead type. My mother at about 75 wasn't feeling well and called my sister at 1am to tell her and argued about getting an ambulance (my sister called for one) cuz she was going to go to the hospitl in the morning pfft, and after paramedics arrived they said ma'am you're having a heart attack. If it's the other kind tough titties. We all play DP and are fully aware when you're number is up, it's up .

Jonathon Crombie, ie Gilbert in Anne Of Green Gables, dead at 48.

SirC

(My ex loved this movie so I saw it a dozen times)

http://www.freep.com/story/life/people/2015/04/18/jonathan-crombie-anne-of-green-gables-death/25994191/

There is probably not one Canadian woman (and maybe some men) in my age group that isn't gutted by news of Jonathan's death. I had such a crush on his Gilbert Blythe. It is just so sad. I think my daughter has the DVDs. Maybe PBS will air all three mini-series in Jonathan's memory.

I damn near opened with 'sorry ladies...' As you are spot on. Growing up in Detroit we got to watch CBC right across the river... So I'm fully versed in Canadian programming and classics.

PBS showing the trilogy would be cool, and I'd cuddle up (with a few beers this time lol ) and watch. I found the third offering an obtuse story with war and all that and Anne going to the Front, but I'm over it. Thanks to my ex wife I now fully enjoy costume dramas and at least the first two parts of AOGG.

I agree, the third one was disappointing, but we did get the long anticipated Ann/Gilbert wedding. To sound completely ridiculous, Jonathan Crombie was just so dreamy in that role. I always thought Megan Follows was a lucky bitch. If there is a rebroadcast I'd watch with a nice bottle of Chambord and pretend that it was Mirrilla's raspberry cordiale.

Lois Lilienstein of Canadian children's music group Sharon, Lois & Bram died of cancer Wednesday night. She was 78

Yeah, I posted this earlier in the Dead of 2015, simply because she was American.
