With the death of Norman Spencer 5 "notable" women remain from 1914. I'd say Muazzez Cig is on another level of notability with respect to the others.

All of them seem to be doing very well, but how long before they are all wiped out as it Is the good and right thing?

*Viola Fletcher , Tulsa massacre survivor and activist, wheelchair bound but no health issues.

*Anne Baker , British writer and fundraiser. Frail, but not too much.

*Muazzez Ilmiye Cig , Turkish sumerologist, doing unexplicably well despite being overweight for decades.

*Edith Renfrow Smith , survived serious COVID hospitalization some years ago, able to walk unaided and sound of mind.

*Eileen Kramer , unsinkable until some time ago, has visibly declined in recent years, but still posting regularly on IG and apparently doing well.

True, and you made me hold my tongue only to be beaten to the post for your own announcement! :P

For the record, the ESO are terrific. I just wanted to be the one to announce this on here.

RIP Norman Spencer, I’m just happy he made it to supercentenarian status and wasn’t secretly dead for years!

Suprisingly just the first death from my list, and it's been five months. That's a long time for 10+ 105-year-olds.

Miye Ota actually made an appearance on this video two months ago:

0:53 onwards. Apparently she had a bad fall and a spinal fracture years ago and has been in 24/7 care for atleast three or four years ago now according to an old gofundme.

As reported elsewhere, football coach Jim Cullivan has died at 103. I was quite sure I had posted a pic of him on his 103rd birthday, but apparently I did not. The level of frailty was quite extreme.

I was reading the centenarians list to pick 15 names for the centenarian pool and there are plenty who are incredibly overdue and getting ridicolously high with age:

Didn't spot this until now but Jean Turco carried the Olympic flame in July.

107 in December. Should comfortably make that. Now in the top 20 oldest living men in France.

Impressive number of medium/high level American politicians who recently turned 100: William Donnermeyer, J. William Middendorff, Merwin Coad and it will culminate with King Jimmy.

Milton Thiago de Mello did a long interview shortly after his 108th birthday, presumably just to piss us off.

Looks like he could become a supercentenarian.

Of those with English-language Wiki pages we have:

Milton Thiago de Mello (wiki) b. 5 Feb 1916 / Brazilian primatologist
Geneviève Callerot (wiki) b. 6 May 1916 / French novelist and farmer
Eunice Parsons (wiki) b. 4 Aug 1916 / American modernist artist
Käthe Menzel-Jordan (wiki) b. 7 Sep 1916 / German architect
Frank Handlen (wiki) b. 26 Sep 1916 / American painter
Mihai Sora (wiki) b. 7 Nov 1916 / Romanian philosopher and essayist
Hélène Guisan (wiki) b. 16 Nov 1916 / Swiss writer, poet and teacher
Ruth Johnson Colvin (wiki) b. 16 Dec 1916 / American skill advocate
Saifur Rahman Nizami (wiki) b. ?? ??? 1916 / Bangladeshi Islamic scholar

I don't know much of those 8. Just that Handlen is reportedly still in good health and still working. I first added him to my long list in 2007 so he's done well!

And then there were 5. Saifur Rahman Nizami (likely an age fraudster like most from that sub-continent) is the last male now.

I believe this cunt has been discussed before. Definitely another fraud. This video is from two years ago:

I'd say mid-80s. There doesn't seem to be that much of him on the internet and his local language Wikipedia page was only created after he received Ekushey Padak in 2020.

Vietnamese politician and military figure, Vice President 1987-1997 and General of the Vietnam People's Army Nguyễn Quyết is 100 today. (and possibly also Nguyễn Thọ Chân, but I'm not sure if that Wiki birthdate is correct)

He was visited three days ago by a Politburo member who briefed him on what the Army is doing now. Still very active and able to walk.

Oldest living four-star General after Wan Haifeng and William V. McBride? (Musuguri and Petar Matić Dule are three-star generals)

Petar Matić Dule (wiki), Yugoslav People's Army colonel general, dead at 104.

Also a WWII veteran and the last living People's Hero of Yugoslavia.
