Spade_Cooley 9,530 Posted January 8, 2014 Four uniques. Surprised nobody else went with Yosra El-Essawy, glad I was able to be the only ones to bag Chen Ziming and Marlise Munoz.
Red Flag 84 Posted January 8, 2014 Great stuff, thanks Got a unique with Hart. Awesome. Surprised I'm the only one to go for Datchler too
themaninblack 2,112 Posted January 8, 2014 And guess what's on ITV4 now?
dean1991 116 Posted January 8, 2014 Ha. Just flicked it on, couldn't be better timed.
Death Impends 7,977 Posted January 8, 2014 Two uniques. Fernandes was admittedly my intentional unique pick, albeit unlike my attempt at that last year he's actually known to be quite unwell, but didn't think John McCabe had a shot until New Year's when all the big guns posted their teams and no one else had him. Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted January 8, 2014 Ooh this is great. I feel just like one of those comic-book-movie-obsessives when a little bit of a movie script gets leaked or something. Except I've actually had sexual intercourse.
Deathray 2,940 Posted January 8, 2014 Tracy Connolley not surprised at as a unique, stupidly high-risk choice but Archie MacPherson I was suprised at; he's being battling cancer for a while.
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted January 8, 2014 Haha.......... there's a team called "Shame Thatcher Can't Die Twice"!
Paul Bearer 6,102 Posted January 8, 2014 Two years in a row I have Len Goodman as a unique hit
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted January 8, 2014 LOL @ sheer amount of people who picked Ian Watkins.
Death Impends 7,977 Posted January 8, 2014 Interesting to see the sheer amount of teams that put on Crowe and/or Granger. Obviously those two were still going to be popular among the top contenders but didn't think they'd ever reach the Drop 40, which is looking pretty likely. Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted January 8, 2014 Holy fuck, Schumacher too. Wow, the guy might have even bought himself "pole position" on the drop forty for fucks sake. How likely was that 2 weeks ago.
Handrejka 1,904 Posted January 8, 2014 Excellent stuff tmib.
themaninblack 2,112 Posted January 8, 2014 Holy fuck, Schumacher too. Wow, the guy might have even bought himself "pole position" on the drop forty for fucks sake. How likely was that 2 weeks ago. Unbelievable turnaround. I haven't sorted out the Drop Forty page yet (I'll do that next time) but I know who's in it...
time 8,611 Posted January 8, 2014 That was quick. Good Work TMIB. Six uniques, including my joker (none of whom I actually expect to die this year, but you never know).
Octopus of Odstock 2,197 Posted January 8, 2014 Well done TMIB, excellent job. The glut of deaths at the start of 2014 can't have helped proceedings.
Octopus of Odstock 2,197 Posted January 8, 2014 Andy Granatelli, picked by Fireball, died 29th December 2013.
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted January 8, 2014 Haha, some new (presumably American) entrant calls himself "The Wanky Yankee". I'd like to shake that guy by the hand.... er, his other hand, that is.
Octopus of Odstock 2,197 Posted January 8, 2014 Brian Hart died in Epping, Essex, just for record's sake. Also Biddlecombe, died in England, not USA. These are not digs, just trying to help. PS Bloody Hell - Kirsty Howard is still alive?!
themaninblack 2,112 Posted January 8, 2014 Wantage in the USA? I must be knackered!
Deathray 2,940 Posted January 9, 2014 What's the most consecutive years a teams been in?
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted January 9, 2014 Oh FUCK YOU Dead and Dusted! I was hoping for Ian Kennedy Martin to be a unique pick Fuck!
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted January 9, 2014 Thanks so much for that. Now I merely have the same number of unique picks as Time does. Thanks a lot, here's what I think of that, Dead and Dusted. No offense.
themaninblack 2,112 Posted January 9, 2014 What's the most consecutive years a teams been in? OptaDeath: 19 - Jesus Jones has competed in every single Derby Dead Pool since 1996, 19 in all. Retainer.
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted January 9, 2014 ok. last comments for now. Anyone noticed the slight er, "running theme" of Mad Maureen's list? Obviously an old bat who hates homos - could it be Brigitte Bardot maybe? And I like the fact that we have two theme teams based on fat people, and their only common pick is James Corden.
