Predictor 1,018 Posted March 19, 2014 Excluding Alice (yes, I will continue to whine about this throughout the year), I currently have 2 hits and 11 points. So I need 6 more hits and 32 more points to do as good as my first season.

So I need 6 more hits and 32 more points to do as good as my first season. I promise not to taunt you about it. If you think I'm going to rabbit on and on about it, then you're wrong. And I'm sure if you still feel bad about it, over time you will find my posts to be a Wonderland of sympathy. Or a tea party of sympathy, if you like. And I'm sure the obit will come eventually, and by the time it's Christmas and everyone is singing Carrolls, you will be grinning like a Cheshire Cat.

While he may be dead, I would dispute that that BBC report confirms Umarov's death; it merely repeats a reports from the Kavkaz Center. No confirmation from any other (mainstream) news source; Reuters can't confirm if, RIA can't confirm it. There is, unless I'm mistaken, no source other than the Kavkaz Center website. If his own people are saying he's dead and BBC said he's dead, how is that not confirmation? Everyone took news reports as proof that OBL died, why not for some sweaty little OBL wannabe who spent all his time hiding out in abandoned warehouses and derelict train stations in the wastelands of some Russian province? The BBC hasn't said he's dead. The BBC has said that his people say he's dead. Not the same as saying he's dead. The headline says 'dead', which is also not the same as dead. Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted March 25, 2014 It's nearly April and still only one down from the Drop Forty. Dunno what that says about the candidates or the people picking them........ but just pointing it out.
themaninblack 2,112 Posted March 25, 2014 Yet by the next update there will be at least 68 hits - well on course for another record. Just the way its happened so far...
Guest Guest Posted March 25, 2014 I can't lie , this has been one of the worst first quarters in deathlist history.very depressing after the best December ever.still, things can only get better! ..can't they?
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted March 25, 2014 The deathlist isn't the Derby Dead Pool. It's just its brother or something. Dummy.
Predictor 1,018 Posted March 25, 2014 I'm still as far as I'm aware on 0/60 ffs. If your picks refuse to die, then you can always make them dead on Wikipedia. Oh wait..
Spade_Cooley 9,517 Posted March 25, 2014 There's been deaths a-plenty, it's just that none of the guys who are either a) notably ill/old (and thus Drop 40 picks) or insider favourites (and thus picks from DDP title hopefuls) have been popping off. The only picks from teams who finished top 20 last year to have died so far are Felix Glenny (three teams), Joe McGinness and Steve Evans (two teams each). maryportfuncity 10,645 Posted March 25, 2014 I was wondering would an audio obit count? There are a lot of people who are covered on The Last Word on Radio 4 who don't even make an obit on the BBC website. As you can get all previous editions on the website would you accept this in the place of a written obit? Every edition of that show has a web page naming them, and that is a BBC obit. Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted March 28, 2014 The hilariously named team "Shame Thatcher Can't Die Twice" hasn't had a single hit yet. If we make it to April 8th (the 1 year anniversary of Thatcher's death) and they're still on zero I think perhaps the joke might be on them a little bit. Deathray 2,940 Posted March 28, 2014 What's the longest it's took for someone to get their firs hit?
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted March 28, 2014 What's the longest it's took for someone to get their firs hit? Um, well, many teams have finished the year on zero, obviously. That's an interesting question, though. MIB. do you know?

Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted March 28, 2014 Also TMIB I know you're colossally disgruntled at the moment but I was wondering why you don't post and let us know here in the thread when you make an update to the site? I appreciate reading your updates I'm sure many do. I'm asking as nicely and unpressuringly as possible........
