YoungWillz 21,056 Posted August 12, 2017 Previous leaders have taken a philosophical approach, in that a lead at this stage is nothing. DI has tumbled from a commanding position, msc remains clawing and clinging to the top 5. Widow's Peak could conceivably draw level with Joey Russ if JR has no more hits and WP hits only 4 in late November/early December. And loads have their valuable Wildcards to play.... It all depends who stalls, who goes, and when. This just ain't over until it's over.
msc 18,476 Posted August 12, 2017 Hah, clawing and clinging on. My joker's still living, but likely to live into 2018... though if he did do a Ray Price on us all, that'd be interesting. Anyhow, I'm just happy to be taking part.
Death Impends 7,979 Posted August 12, 2017 I think I had too many early leavers to win this year but my joker remains a solid bet for a fall-time expiry.
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted August 15, 2017 Oh the joy as we anticipate another updated leader board, what with Glen Campbell singing his swan song. msc only top 4 team still holding on to his Glen Campbell Christmas concert tickets.

YoungWillz 21,056 Posted August 18, 2017 Well, I've had a quick glance at the old scoreboard and Brucie is a hit. Unfortunately for msc, this means that with Widow's Peak smashing in with a Wildcard, msc remains the holder of the title for the longest time without a hit.
Grim Up North 3,726 Posted August 18, 2017 I see Joey didn't have Brucie - that must tighten things up a bit........

Just had a more detailed look at the old scoreboard. Toast and Widow's Peak had Brucie as a Wildcard and therefore become joint leaders of the highest individual score at this point @Deathray of 458 Points. Yes. it is tighter at the top now....

Cheers for the ping. Leaderboards updated; a rather magnificent breakage coming at just shy of 100 points above (various players tied on 363). @msc Your record is safe for another year. By a rather close 11 days.
msc 18,476 Posted August 18, 2017 Damn you, Widows Peak!!!!!!!!! I mean, Well Done old chap.
Joey Russ 7,228 Posted August 20, 2017 I think I lost my lead. Or if I somehow didn't, it's certainly extremely close to it...
YoungWillz 21,056 Posted August 20, 2017 It's finally gone All Black for Colin Meads, and as I recall, the chasing pack have a number of hits...if they are chasing at all now... I'll check out the leaderboard soon...
YoungWillz 21,056 Posted August 20, 2017 Yes, as I thought, all very interesting and too close to call out in the lead at the moment. No-one had Meads as a Wildcard.....
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted August 20, 2017 Sir Creep has the Needs for Meads. *rubbing diabolical hands together awaiting scoring update* Edit - looks like msc had him too so there'll be no leapfrogging this day. Well done msc. And to Grim and Unknown and anyone else who had him.

I think no-one above me had both Meads and Forsyth and it's not enough points for me to catch you and just one of them is not enough points for anyone to catch you ergo you're still leading. YoungWillz 21,056 Posted August 20, 2017 A few teams had the King of Comedy and everyone slips around again. It's even tighter at the top now....

Well done msc. And to Grim and Unknown and anyone else who had him. A quick look at your team Sir Creep and I like your chances in this pool - Rayya Elias as your unplayed joker looks like a heap of points you'll be banking before end of the year. On the other hand my joker Stephen Hawking is having a twitter battle with a UK politician over our National Health Service and seems like he will go 'on and on' (in my head I can hear Hawking (well his computer) saying this last bit as I type it). However I believe that when the end finally comes for Hawking it will be fast - there is surely no deterioration period left in him.

Toast 16,144 Posted August 20, 2017 Where is the current scoreboard? The link on page one takes you to an old one.
Grim Up North 3,726 Posted August 20, 2017 The last posted leader board was number 14 on 12th August but that is a bit out of date now due to the flurry of deaths. YW is providing us with nearly 2 leaderboards a month though and also keeping the master list up to date death by death so 5 stars for the Gamemeister from me. 1

As much as YW has restored a massive amount of efficiency to this pool - in fact I'd even go as far to say the tagline needs changing, I am unfortunately still in charge of the OP, so take your ire out on me over that not YW. Edit: fixed . Edited August 20, 2017 by Deathray

I'll fix it in the morning . Cheers. I wasn't blaming anyone, just pointing out something that needed fixing. Might be a good idea to retire this thread at the end of the year, and have a new one for 2018, with first few posts reserved for scoreboard and masterlists like MPFC does.
