Sir Creep 7,070 Posted June 15, 2015 Douglas D. Danforth, retired chairman and CEO of Westinghouse Electric Corp. and later CEO and chairman of the Pirates, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, in UPMC Montefiore during a short battle with cancer. He was 92 and resided in Ligonier and in Naples, Fla.. SChttp://triblive.com/mobile/8540440-96/danforth-pirates-pittsburgh Naples, FLA... Don't dought I've walked by the bottom of his garden, wondering "who lives in a house like this?" I spent two years as a child in Pittsburgh, PA and my parents took a few trips to Ligonier, PA to see Fort Ligonier where they would re-enact battles etc. Surely a 3- yr old like me was bored, but there ain't a lot in Ligonier besides rolling hills and apparently a house owned by the Westinghouse CEO (an aside, my dad worked at Westinhouse for a couple years). I probably didn't find the first Daniel Villanueva because the first post had him as a Danny. But yes, the guy who was a somewhat successful football player then became a media mogul of sorts. Whereas my NYT obit focuses on his role as the latter, the football obits focus on the former. It's like that person had two lives.
