Another no-go for me: I picked ex-Hewlett Packard chairman Ralph Whitworth for my DDP team since he had left his position after suffering a recurrence of throat cancer, reportedly with a "worse prognosis". I assumed that meant terminal, and although it was initially - he had been given 8-10 months to live - he's now recovered thanks to cutting-edge treatment and recently enjoyed a private Rolling Stones concert http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2015/may/29/rolling-stones-whitworth-belly-up-concert-jagger/

Hmm. Dead. Aged 60. Cancer. http://www.wsj.com/articles/longtime-activist-investor-ralph-whitworth-dies-after-cancer-battle-1475189435

His cancer returned in a more virulent form earlier this year.

DDP awaiting obit.

A unique pick too. Reminds me of the time I went for Derek Martinus on the DDP, and he outlived the year, so I dropped him. Only my info was right, he was dying, and his death the next February was a unique bonus for some randomer!

Ain't that tricky - didn't get a cure, just enough time to last well beyond his DDP relevancy for me.

Unlucky for him, though. That cutting-edge treatment seemed effective enough I thought he'd have a good few years left.

This does mean my 2015 squad is down to four survivors.

Got to feel for the Diana Rots teams of the world, one of the less heralded victims of 2016. The top teams are recording so many hits, it's going to be a struggle for them to fill out an entire 2017 side.

Not true. He found out he was going to be forced to listen to another Stones concert.

Looks like his brother Adrian is still alive. And if you are a billionaire it's a guaranteed Honour "from the Queen". And a guaranteed obit to follow.

F. Ross Johnson, the former RJR Nabisco CEO depicted as the epitome of corporate greed in the best-selling book and movie “Barbarians at the Gate,” has died. He was 85.

87 +Pancreatic Cancer=Slim chance of seeing Jan 1,though he probably only would qualify for something like Deathrace as I don't see him as someone who would get national obit writeups.

Co-founder of Nintendo America, Alan "Al" Stone, dead at 71:

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-of-america-cofounder-passes-away-at-71/1100-6448100/

He brought all the classic arcade machines to America, well, not personally with his own hands, but ordered someone to do it.
