Recommended Posts

The OP seems to indicate two champions in 2011, was there a time or something?

Katayama dead, on the 19th.

315 points, puts you second and into four figures, respect!

Thanks. First time ever for me reaching four figures in the Deathrace.

However seriously you take it, the prize has a £10 limit, right? If you want to get more money - find a sponsor!

Dignity is worth more than money and you'd have to be one hell of a Cunt not to give the prize to charity.

That's a terrible thing to say about Raskolnikov (proud owner of a DVD copy of the original - 1975 - Deathrace 2000 movie).

Or, maybe, he watched it and gifted it to Oxfam.

It wasn't a precedent then either, no?

Hell no, the only precedent is that we offer a prize and keep it cheap and cheerful. It's to the credit of our second winner that s/he chose a charity donation, since when that's been the norm, along with all the good-natured joshing and general "well done but you need to get a life" style congratulations that pour onto the winner. After which, the thread is rightfully left to sink into oblivion hereabouts.

He doubled his money in the Wall Street Crash but Irving Kahn has shortened the gap at the top of the Deathrace. Died on the 24th, apparently.

Provisional on a suitable obit for Irving Kahn it just got tight at the top:

MSC - 1341

Thanks! To think, if I'd kept him as my joker instead of going British, it would look even better, but then I guess that would be getting greedy!

I will await official confirmation but 4 people get points for Leonard Nimoy and I think this puts me in fourth place.

Q - Who led the peasants revolt? A - Wat Tyler/ Q - Who led the pedants revolt? A - Which Tyler

The ardent pedant often falls. Reminds me of when Nerina Pallot seems to have sung, "Safire, Safire, his typo is higher".

That joke is dead obscure and not funny, but I'm proud of it.

Seriously, what the fuck is this a reference to?

William Safire's high typo. And Nerina Pallot's song Sophia, which sounds pronounced more like Safire, malapropally speaking.

I didn't claim it was a good joke.
