She just retired from the House of Lords and as such there are no remaining female hereditary peers. Given the amount I've read about reduced lifespans and autism its impressive that he made it to 91. Especially given that he was not left anything bar the title by his parents and was subject to such barbaric medical treatment. Before taking an active role in the House, he was an Army doctor, serving in Nigeria before becoming a GP in north London. A hereditary peer, he first sat in the House of Lords in 1982 and was elected to remain in 1999 when the reforms came in.
