I expect a series of posts about why everything in the budget is bad news for everyone. I don't doubt that there will be bad news in the budget, because that's the way of things, but there is no need to spin it into the end of the world is nigh.
The Old Crem 3,533 Posted yesterday at 15:52 Doesn’t seem anything in the budget to cause a significant unexpected anger as they was nothing negative that was a surprise. . Tories and Lib Dem’s seem to think Inheritance Tas changes relating to family farms could be the main U turn at some point particularly as their saying the Environmental secretary tried to stop its inclusion. https://www.farmersguide.co.uk/business/politics/chancellor-announces-hammer-blow-reforms-to-agricultural-property-relief/

RoverAndOut 4,686 Posted 3 hours ago Seems to have gone down relatively well, despite the doom mongering of the past month plus. Lots of talk about growth being sluggish until 2032 although the measures should start to bear fruit by then - good! This country needs to stop with the short-termism. We need long-term investment all over the place - in terms of people, time AND money. If Labour start delivering some of that, then it's a start.

Election in 2029 so Labour will need to be seen by enough voters as having improved the country to win a majority again I suspect. .
