Well, a vast number* of Leave voters have an IQ about half the number of their age. *No, not all of them. Probably around 53%, looking at the (yes, I know, almost certainly exaggerated) poll. msc 18,479 Posted January 8, 2018 Chris Grayling is Schrodinger's Tory party chairman, apparently. Agreed to it, the promotion publicised, and then they realised the party wouldn't take to it? Or something like that. It's like someone told May "no one could be as incompetent as Jeremy Corbyn in 2016" and she said "I'll take that bet"...

There's certainly been shutdowns before but yeah, I can't recall one when the Republicans control all 3 branches of government? One for our US political experts - @Death Impends? Death Impends 7,979 Posted January 20, 2018 I don't think the GOP had the full trinity since the days of Herbert Hoover? So probably never. ETA I was wrong re the trinity thing, they had it recently as Dubya days. But there were no shutdowns during his presidency either.
charon 4,943 Posted January 20, 2018 Who cares? Multiple shutdowns over the years, which only proves politicos with a big wage care fuck all. A big plus for The Donald.
YoungWillz 21,060 Posted January 21, 2018 Presidency now using military as bargaining chips...pay the military veterans and take money away from CHIP, healthcare, etc. If the military fight for a safe, secure future for the children of the USA, are they only fighting for the future of rich white kids? Hmm....
TQR 14,400 Posted January 21, 2018 Henry Bolton, off of UKIP, has a unanimous vote of no confidence handed to him by his party. He's defying his party's will and staying on, as a contest would 'finish the party'. Oh no. Shame. I mean, if UKIP was a Deathlistable entry, it'd neighbour all the cancer certs. Sir Creep 7,070 Posted February 1, 2018 Here is a test. If you do not want to take your bare hands and end the life of these two, or at least allow the State to do it.... you, my friend, are a devout pacifist. How did you fare?

YoungWillz 21,060 Posted February 6, 2018 BBC banging on about women's suffrage this afternoon, and how far we have to go to achieve equality for women on the pay gap, representation in Parliament, blah blah blah. Here's another couple of suggestions to achieve that desired "equality": Legislate to ensure that women pay equal rates of car insurance. Ensure that women criminals are locked up as much as their male equivalents. Legislate to ensure that rape crisis and domestic violence centres and refuges cater for male victims. And maybe in 50 years time (assuming lack of nuclear holocaust or global warming destruction), we'll still be talking about how these inequalities have still to be addressed....

SC There was a case of this at my school (both a female teacher and male teacher, my school wasn't brilliant). Male teacher locked a couple of 15 year old kids in his classroom and asked them some inappropriate questions, he was escorted from the school by the police, banned from teaching, eventually convicted of indecent somethingorother and he ultimately topped himself. Female teacher had an affair with a 14 year old, no word of a lie, didn't even get fucking sacked until some concerned parents found out months later and complained to the school.
