She looked OK in the commons earlier I thought but if your people say parkinsons I'm inclined to believe them based on your history of inside knowledge. Thatcher 2,455 Posted March 13 She once went apeshit at me and a bunch of staffers to get out a lift because the division bells were ringing. We were all going the same way, moody cow. She definitely has a condition. 1

Don't quote me on Parkinson's. None of them seem to know for sure. They all implied it's some kind of terminal but slow degenerative thing, and one said "maybe Parkinson's". You can live for a few years with these things, you can live for 15 years with them. It's not worth the risk of putting her on DL.

I spoke to an MP tonight after the above conversation and he said "I heard Parkinsons too". Whatever it is, she seemed to speak fine within the chamber the other day, so perhaps she has good and bad days.
YoungWillz 21,142 Posted May 28 It's now coming out that the internal disciplinary process on her finished months ago. Questions now being raised about why a decision has not been made on re-admittance or otherwise to the Labour Party. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8vv4ep92y8o Interesting sideshow to the Election, though I'm not sure CCHQ can make much of this.

Nothing as you know - I just don't think it's a campaign talking point for Tories to beat the Labour Party over the head with. The culture wars and political process points aren't going to cut through imo. I think people want to hear what can make a difference to their lives, not politicians' lives.
The Old Crem 3,621 Posted May 28 Blocked from standing for Labour. Will she stand as independent- or even appear more in public so we can asses her health.

Yeah, she will - whatever the other reasons in the Labour decision you suspect it was discussed, but not written that their poll lead makes her and Jezza expendable and if they want to woo business that's a good look. She took over 70% of the votes in Hackney and Stoke Newington last time, what that'd mean if a Labour candidate chased them and she stood independently is probably too hard to call, the big curve ball being she's got to get out and show herself and that means form studying for the voters as well as us. Turns 70 in September, btw.

nantonian2013 50 Posted May 28 I'm sceptical she has as much of a personal vote in her constituency as Corbyn might.

Aye, a genuinely hard to call seat - and Labour taking it would be a Portillo moment to some.
