On a related tangent - this is something I was thinking about the other day (after working out you'd need to be around about 92 to have seen active service in the second world war.) Here's how old someone who was around 18 would be when certain major historic albums were released, I'm going to start using these albums as a way to judge whether some one is merely old or old as fuck: 21 for The 1975 - I Like It When You Sleep..... 23 for Ed Sheeran - X 26 for Adele - 21 29 for Coldplay - Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends 32 for Arctic Monkeys - WPSIAM 36 for Slipknot - Iowa 46 for Nirvana - Nevermind 51 for The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead 54 for Metallica - Kill Em All 61 for Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks 65 for David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars 68 for the The Beatles - Abbey Road 71 for Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde 74 for The Beatles - Please Please Me 77 for The Everly Brothers - It's Everly Time 81 for Elvis Presley - Elvis Presley's Rock N Roll 84 for Duke Ellington - The Duke Play's Ellington 88 for Vera Lynn - Sincerely Yours 91 for Frank Sinatra - The Voice of Frank Sinatra 94 for Judy Garland - The Second Judy Garland Souvenier Album 97 for Sister Rosetta Tharpe - Bring Back the Happy Days I need to get out more.

Deathray 2,940 Posted August 11, 2019 Here's one for music deaths; slightly more related to the forum, how old a roughly 18 year old would be now: 19 for Avicci 21 for David Bowie 26 for Amy Winehouse 28 for Michael Jackson 31 for Syd Barrett 36 for George Harrison 43 for Kurt Cobain 46 for Freddie Mercury 57 for John Lennon 60 for Elvis Presley 65 for Jim Morrison 68 for Brian Wilson 72 for Nat King Cole 78 for Buddy Holly 84 for Hank Williams

TQR 14,399 Posted August 14, 2019 Bit of culture rather than the usual bollocks I listen to: As an aside, the YouTube comments section's quite amusing on this.
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted August 21, 2019 Seriously, even by the fairly tolerant standards at MPFC Towers this is strangeness!! Bought as part of a 3 CDs for £20 offer from the wonderful Global Emporium mob who do merch tents at festivals - this is a collection of Christian cuts from late 60's to mid 70's all of which pack fierce fuzz guitars. Bought for no other reason than I liked the cover and guaranteed to be coming to a cult radio show before too long!

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted August 29, 2019 Thought I had posted this here back around early April. Must have been Facebook. Perfect song fae perfect Irish Rebel Gurrl. By a 'good Canadian boy' as my Canadian cousin said on FB. CaptainChorizo 1,983 Posted August 31, 2019 I think this duet might be a record for youngest living former DDP pick's to have a duet(that is likely to change if/when Camilla Cabello becomes a future DDP pick)
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted August 31, 2019 Sir Creep has always listened to ALL music. Favour can be found in most of it. But he found his home in electronic industrial. Our good friends from Canada had a recording label called Nettwerk Records who recorded two industrial bands: Skinny Puppy and Severed Heads. SirC probably was the only fan of Severed Heads (he still has the cassette somewhere). Nettwerk sent the troops out circa 1986, and so he got to see Severed Heads open for Skinny Puppy ('Vivasect' Tour). Most of the Severed Heads album is quite approachable, squeaky noises and clicks aside. SC would prefer to post something like 'Harry and Cindy Hospital' or 'Twenty Deadly Diseases', but here is their most approachable song, 'Propeller'. (hints of New Order? meh)
