Octopus of Odstock 2,197 Posted March 2, 2006 This article raised hopes for a second but with nothing to support it, one can only presume sloppy research. Red Herring for Ms. Astor

Canadian Paul 97 Posted March 4, 2006 Another red herring. I'd heard that a centenarian philanthropist had died but, alas, it was not Brooke Astor.

Banshees Scream 110 Posted March 7, 2006 Another red herring. I'd heard that a centenarian philanthropist had died but, alas, it was not Brooke Astor. She's playing mind games with us (as well as killing off her last remaining friends). John Lennon's song "Mind Games" was very good I say. I listen to it every now and then. Brooke Astor is 104 years old. She hasn't got that long. How much longer can she really last? But in this case we won't talk about the mother of Islam. How much longer can she really last? But in this case we won't talk about the mother of Islam. I remember that episode of The Simpsons where it showed that Mr. Burns' longevity was due to his charitable donations to Satan. Perhaps Mrs. Astor has procured a similar deal? And for a few extra million, Satan will kill off people who are similar in description to her, just to piss of people who have her in their deadpools. Personally, having no stake in her death, I find this all rather amusing.
weatherman90 7 Posted March 9, 2006 Apparently, some people think she has died already. Or perhpas they are just assuming, being her age. The article refers to her as "the late Brooke Astor" Dead?

Also today, three-time DL Candidate Frankie Lane turns 93, while everyone's favourite rapper, MC Hammer, turns 44! There's actually a ton on March 30, but I'll leave it to anyone else who cares to list them But this birthday message won't be complete without this picture:
