Anubis the Jackal 77 Posted July 20, 2005 What he DOES get hot under the collar over is if you (accidentally or on purpose) confuse astronomy with astrology (sorry about ver spellings there). You seem to know a lot about Sir P. Moore. You did actually miss out the most important part though - When is he going to die? You'd have to ask an astrologer, not an astromoner. Oh, you can ask an astronomer as well. He'll say that his answer is just as reliable as the astrologer's. regards, Hein
Windsor 2,235 Posted July 20, 2005 No he hasn't, I know because I just typed every single living candidate into google news and they were all fine. Unless something went terribly wrong in the last 10 mins.

Guest dave Posted July 30, 2005 Sir Patrick Moore is presenting a 5oth anniversary special of Sky at Night next saturday...nearly 2 years before the actual anniversary. This has made me very suspicious that maybe Patrick doesnt expect to last till the actual anniversary.Hes certainly deteriorated quite a bit in the last year or so. Banshees Scream 110 Posted July 30, 2005 I'm just a little bit confused.. Are you saying Moore is close to death at the moment or is this some kind of random prediction? Either way anything on Patrick Moore should be posted in his thread in the 2005 names. Unless your reporting he's dead that is.
maryportfuncity 10,682 Posted July 31, 2005 Unregistered Dave has a point. Damn shame he hasn't registered. I mean, there are hundreds of thousands of Dave's in the UK so we've no idea who to thank. I too was suspicious of the profile being given to this performance and Big Patrick's lack of movement and his somewhat slurred speech in the trailer. It's his kiss off from the BBC and - probably - something they can hold as a 'tribute' and roll out a few weeks/months later when his skepticism about the afterlife will have been given the one test that really counts. Guest stargazer Posted August 25, 2005 (edited) Old Patrick will be sadly missed when he dies, which sadly now looks fairly imminent.Who can replace him for sheer entertainment and eccentricity?Hes a typical british eccentric.so funny and yet so knowledgeable.I hopoe he can stay with us for another year or 2 before he goes to the big obervatory in the sky.
