An Fear Beag 1,558 Posted December 10, 2019 Pete Frates makes it 18 hits for me. Assuming the pool is resurrected, that should hopefully leave me in a decent position. (although who knows, given the oddities of the scoring system).

Clorox Bleachman 2,471 Posted December 23, 2019 Merry Christmas! UPDATE 5 1 2 3 4 Hits/Misses Woizlawa-Feodora Elise Marie E Reuss | 3rd June | 1 team Johnny Clegg | 16th July | 18 teams Rutger Hauer | 19th July | no teams Harley Race | 1st August | 3 teams Lisa Wells | 17th August | 2 teams Kathleen Blanco | 18th August | 20 teams Valerie Harper | 30th August | 10 teams Robert Mugabe | 6th September | 11 teams Daniel Johnston | 11th September | 1 team Fernando Ricksen | 18th September | 18 teams José José | 28th September | 10 teams We begin this update with the unnoticed death of the Duchess of Mecklenburg, Princess Woizlawa Feodora Elise Marie E Reuss. The 100-year-old was the last member of her family, but was better known for having a long name. She didn't obit. Shame. In 2 months we lost five D40ers who became something of a canon. They were Johnny Clegg, Kathleen Blanco (who was a hit for the most teams and scored the most points so far), Valerie Harper, Robert Mugabe and Fernando Ricksen. Almost everyone had 3 of these people on their team. Gooseberry Crumble once again took the unconventional route. He swerved clear of all five names and opted instead for a unique with singer-songwriter Daniel Johnston. Skinny kiltrunner, The Mad Hatter and msc narrowly missed out on uniques of their own. However, everyone missed Blade Runner actor Rutger Hauer. Another popular pick was José José, whose debut album was called José José. Regrettably no teams chose to double their fortunes. A fair few of you have noticed that I've had some difficulty keeping this DP alive. The reason for this is that my setup is a bit of a time-consuming nightmare. The Brackers death date issue didn't help. It's a pool that people are interested in and I don't want to throw up a crude, subpar leaderboard. Anyhow, stay tuned for the next – fully up-to-date – scoreboard tomorrow. Scores in full: 1. The Mad Hatter - 93 +10 Johnny Clegg +10 Valerie Harper +6 Kathleen Blanco +4 Harley Race +3 José José +3 Fernando Ricksen 2. msc - 88 +18 Johnny Clegg +12 Kathleen Blanco +5 Lisa Wells +3 Fernando Ricksen 3. Clorox Bleachman 2,471 Posted December 24, 2019 UPDATE 6 1 2 3 4 5 Hits/Misses Leah Bracknell | September | 17 teams Bill Macy | 17th October | 2 teams Marieke Vervoort | 22nd October | 8 teams Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi | 27th October | 4 teams Gay Byrne | 4th November | 6 teams Harrison Dillard | 15th November | 2 teams Clive James | 24th November | 15 teams Yasuhiro Nakasone | 29th November | 5 teams Pete Frates | 9th December | 8 teams I decided that the right thing to do, in the case of Leah Bracknell's death date, was to do nothing. The date has literally no effect on the scores. She was the most popular pick of this update, but 15 teams went for fellow hinger-oaner death-tease Clive James. Speaking of whom, Marieke Vervoort provides the first unnatural death points of the year. Speaking of unnatural deaths, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi... I can't keep this chain going. Who else died? Actor Bill Macy, not to be confused with the more widely-known William H. Macy. Oldest living state leader Yasuhiro Nakasone and Late Late Show host Gay Byrne. Former 'world's fastest man', Harrison Dillard, who was a unique pick in DDP, another string to the bows of CaptainChorizo and Gooseberry Crumble. Although Pete Frates might not have come with any bonuses, his death nudges An Fear Beag into joint first place. Bookies' favourite The Mad Hatter has serious competition now. If there are no changes then An Fear Beag will win; he has 18 hits versus The Mad Hatter's 14, and 3 wildcard hits vs 2. Any changes to the top will result in an update. Scores in full: =1. An Fear Beag 1,558 Posted January 16, 2020 Thanks Clorox. Somehow I had completely missed your post on 24th December, so I had no idea I was in the lead. It came as quite a pleasant surprise today when I saw that I had won it. I am still completely bewildered by the scoring system in this game, so I don't really know HOW I won it, but I'll happily take it!! Thanks for running the game - it seems like a lot of hard work for little reward.
