He would have been 79. The only other mention I've seen is of someone trying to add that date to his Wikipedia page (without a source). Pilnick plays on their first album, and on Stuck in the Middle, but he (and the rest of the band) had quit before Ferguslie Park was recorded. Stealers Wheel was basically Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan for Star and Everything Will Turn Out Fine, with session musicians if needed. Then, having fallen out with the rest of the band, they fell out with each other.
