time 8,618 Posted June 10, 2021 Nicholas Synnott, the BA pilot who spent over 8 months in hospital with covid-19, has died aged 60, six months after being discharged from hospital. His death hasn't been attributed to covid (yet) but it certainly didn't do him any good.

His death hasn't been attributed to covid (yet) but it certainly didn't do him any good. He died on a flight. Makes me wonder if the different air pressure is to blame. Severe COVID seems to attack the inner organs, and makes them vulnerable to, I don't know, tissue being torn apart or something. Those long-COVID-people, like Derek Draper, who "cannot really move", they are permanently damaged.
gcreptile 10,979 Posted June 10, 2021 In this context, Azam Khan, the Cup and MMMDP pick, still hospitalised even though he's COVID negative now: https://www.livehindustan.com/uttar-pradesh/story-sp-mp-and-former-minister-azam-khan-from-rampur-admitted-to-medanta-hospital-in-lucknow-had-trouble-urinating-4106700.html However, he's had a bladder infection which is now under control. And several other infections, for example, in his lung. Still, he's "stable".

I hadn't seen that, but presumably he flew back from Houston when he was discharged, so it sounds as if his condition deteriorated further.

It does say that he contracted the virus on a flight.
