Excuse me if I ask something stupid, offensive or blasphemous, but wouldn't it be better if the Scottish footy leagues played their games in summer, as the Swedes and Norwegians do? regards, Hein

Tulips up in price. Edam down in price. It's criminal, Track Cycling and Speed Skating are still minority sports in rest of world. Terrain out of window still flat, says geologist. Watch out for tomorrows exciting report on repairing a puncture. (with sincere apologies to Hein). You forgot a few headlines: - Number of windmills steady - Clog production down - Cannabis production up regards, Hein

I once smashed my friends head off the concrete ground whilst pretending to be a power ranger when I was about 8. Another time I was throwing stones at an arsehole called Brian. He was a dick. Anyway, one hit him on the mouth and he started bleeding profusely. It was only later that I learned he had undergone surgery on his mouth a week or so earlier for his speech impediment or something. However another time I decided to have a go at a bigger kid by threatening him with a stick with nails in it. He pulled some kind of spiderman mask over his face, pulled the stick out of my hands, cutting them with the nails. I was left howling. Not my finest moment. I was 23 . This is why I have been banned from cafes...

Twenty Lords A-Leaving - This would have been a good name for the list I posted in Political Frailty of those members of the Upper House who have been given leave of absence (sent home to die) Bish, Bash, Bosh: - A team of senior clergy, boxers, Germans and Geoffrey Durham

James Robinson, the Detroit man who had to walk to work 33 kilometers to work and got a car and fortune from a good Samaritan, is receiving death threats by envious persons. Was bound to happen.

But you do get all the best jobs and better pay.... ...oh wait. At least you get into clubs for free on a Friday night whereas us blokes have to pay. On average women live a few years longer than geezers. I don't know how much fun those years are, living with faulty plumbing. regards, Hein I can't remember the last time I went into a club - it was probably about 3 years ago. It was full of pissed-up, middle-aged, mutton-dressed-as-spam slags looking to get fingered in the park on the way home......oh wait..... Fingered? You are in Wiltshire Lardy, that's going to be 14 fingers and retro Casio digital special going elbows in there. Anyway, while we are on the "oh woe is me coz I is a wimmin" bollocks, a woman at work has just given birth to her second child. Now how long has she got off for that then? How about ELEVEN MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know that is way too short a time.

I love you for posting that, but it's not what the doctor ordered. The DDP celebrity rules state: It seems those bloody Brits can't be arsed to copy and paste it to a DDP approved news site. Oh well, 10 more months till 2016.regards,Hein Yeah, I understood that; I just wanted to satisfy Sir Creep's request (I meant to quote his previous post...), as he just wanted something besides that link confirming the death (in English). I presumed that he wanted it for their US-based competition and not the local DDP, but I may have been wrong.

Seems like a remote chance. I guess they might screen for prostate cancers and the vast majority of those are medically insignificant (early stage indolent cancers). I'm reading Daniel Kahneman's "Thinking, Fast and Slow" at the moment. For those that don't know, Kahneman is a psychologist and economics nobel-prize winner. Yesterday, I read through a chapter of "expert opinion vs. statistics" and it specifically discussed medical experts vs. medical statistics. It turned out that the opinions of medical experts are at most about as good, but never better and mostly worse than statistics. So yeah, one should pay much more attention to such statistics than to some experts who say that person XYZ, or let's say, for example, Sam Simon, has at most 6 months to live.

Not really belonging in here, but it was only when I read about his death that I thought, bugger it. So so close to changing WC history, and I never even knew they had a national football team. Horst Borcherding dead at 83. Who did he play for? Saarland. The post WW2 Protectorate actually had a team, and they played in the '54 qualifiers. And if they had won their last home game v West Germany, they and not the Heroes of Berne would have progressed to Switzerland, and the Germans may not have become the machine they did. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saarland_national_football_team

I just read in the news that King Albert and Queen Paola must resend 150 cards in which they express gratitude for condolences at Queen Fabiola's death. The original card stated Queen Paola's death as the occasion. regards, Hein

Whitney Houston's daughter "found unresponsive" in bath... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-31076634 I visited Bath about 15 years ago. It had much the same effect on me. Joking aside, she's apparently "struggled the same demons as her mother and father." As Whitney was found dead in her bath, could this, sadly, be another Paula Yates/Peaches Geldof situation?
