Home and Away

Recommended Posts

Okay, kill this thread if it's redundant, but I think Australian Daily Soap "Home and Away" is a total death trap, possibly because of cheap sets full of toxic plastic sets.

Here's the proof:

In 2001: Megan Connolly - drug overdose at 27.

In 2006: Belinda Emmett dead of cancer at 32 - press link is obsolete, but it's noted on the forum.

Right now: Johnny Ruffo, diagnosed with cancer at 29, now 32.

In 2014: Tessa James has Hodgkin's lymphoma at 23, but survives.

In 2016: Russell Kiefel, collapsed on stage and died shortly after. At age 65.

In 2017: Jessica Falkholt, in a deadly car crash at 29 (she was dizzy because of the toxic fumes).

In 2018: Catherine Godbold dead at 43 of cancer.

In 2018: Cornelia Frances dead at 77 of bladder cancer.

Also in 2018: Olivia Deeble, hospitalized with a brain swelling at 18.

In 2019: Annalise Braakensiek, "found dead", in her home at 46.

In 2019: Ben Unwin, "found dead" at 41.

In 2019: Darius Perkins, dead of cancer at 54.

In 2019: Joel McIlroy charged with assault, blames it on his Huntington's disease.

In 2020: Dee Thomas has cancer at 54.

In 2020: Mick Innes dead of lung disease at 67.

And of course, Heath Ledger's suicide in 2008 because the cancerous fumes gave him depression.

Also, here is a list, which is incomplete:

https://home-and-away-soap-opera.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Home_And_Away_actors_who_have_died.

Most of those actors/actresses get QOs, and it seems there are about 2 early deaths per year, so maybe it's worth paying more attention to this show.

Back in 2009 one of the storylines was actually about a cancer cluster in the town - be spooky if there was one in real life.

I thought this was, as with Owen Wilson's suicide attempt, Mary-Kate Olsen's pussy is a natural depressant?

Home and Away director John Clabburn killed in a freak garden accident:

https://www.fm104.ie/news/buzz/home-and-away-director-john-clabburn-has-died-following-a-freak-gardening-accident/

He cut himself off a tree with a saw and apparently injured his hand (cut it off?). He lost so much blood that he died from a cardiac arrest.

I told you, this show is a curse.

Edit: This one, of course, also wit QO: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/14584305/home-and-away-director-john-clabburn-hedge-trimmer-sydney/

Must of been a horrendous death poor bloke, agree the show really is cursed wouldn’t be surprised if Johnny Ruffo snuffed it in next few years as well only 33 but currently suffering from his 2nd Brain Tumour. Still there is always Alf aka Ray Meagher he seems to have been ancient forever thought he was past it in the 90’s when i watched Home and Away religiously, dip in occasionally now and he is still going, just looked he is ‘Only’ 76 thought he was older than that he will probably outlive them all, though saying that he has had heart problems recently too. Cursed everyone of them.

Crossposting the death of Dieter Brummer at only 45 years.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-9825193/Dieter-Brummer-dead-Home-Away-star-known-playing-Shane-Parrish-dies-aged-45.html

As it was a likely suicide, this is the second unnatural death related to the show this year.

Wow, I never thought much of this thread to even bother reading it. Glad I did. Clearly cursed. What the hell.

Johnny Ruffo update:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11156575/Johnny-Ruffo-fears-girlfriend-Tahnee-Sims-react-death.html

He wonders how his girlfriend would react to his death... Lots of updates currently because he has a documentary airing right now. He has exceeded the life expectancy of people with his tumour by 2 years now. It was three years initially... so he does not have glioblastoma, it seems, but it's still terminal.

Worth mentioning that Johnny Ruffo's Instagram has now been dormant for over 2 months, the longest he's gone without posting. His girlfriend has not posted any update and occasionally posts bouquets of flowers on her story. Is the end nigh?
