JR976evil 905 Posted May 6, 2021 10 years now since he revealed he was dying of Parkinson’s, reckoned he had around 7 years so outlived his own medically qualified estimate. 76 now, has been mentioned before but was surprised he’s never had his own thread despite his association with stiffs
Genfærd 452 Posted May 7, 2021 I have no idea who this man is, but after searching him up, he looks like a ghoul. But probably important...ish?

Prophet 251 Posted May 7, 2021 His father is still alive at the age of 105. You can also survive much longer than just 10 years with Parkinson as it doesn't directly causes death. He can still walk unaided which means the disease isn't in it's finale stage yet.
I.R.Baboon 221 Posted May 7, 2021 He would be a nice name on the list..

I knew who he was when I saw his name on the new thread list, even though I've never followed his work even remotely closely. Passes the fame test for me and is world-renowned in his field.

He was pretty much everywhere when his show debuted around 2002, his Bodyworlds show was featured in Casino Royale and he also had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo. Not been heard from much recently on account of him slowly dying over the past decade...

My own worldview is small, but learning about different people is always interesting. There's a lot of British and Americans that I've included on my list that I would never know about without this site. I'm not surprised, as a non-German speaker that doesn't live in Germany, that I might not have heard of this man. That doesn't make him unworthy of the Deathlist. I wouldn't include him in my own list because his condition seems to be well managed and he's reasonably healthy, from past interviews.
arghton 6,633 Posted August 25, 2021 Apparently a new (or atleast not very old) picture of Hagens and his father (Gerhard Liebchen, 105).
gcreptile 10,929 Posted November 19, 2021 He made an appearance at the Von Hagens museum in the small Brandenburg border town of Guben: https://www.rbb24.de/studiocottbus/beitraege/2021/11/guben-plastinarium-15-jahre-von-hagens.html
arghton 6,633 Posted February 18, 2022 Here's a picture of Hagens (77) & Liebchen (105) from December, most recent picture of Hagens I could find. He looks a bit like his face was a plastic mask put on a skeleton and his dad's teeth could fall off at any moment but both are still able to walk. Hagens doesn't look like someone who'll live another 5+ years though, atleast to me. They will also both be put on display when they've become (actual) cadavers.
arghton 6,633 Posted August 18, 2022 Gerhard Liebchen died at 106 last month. He'll be plastinated as mentioned before. According to the article von Hagens "is doing quite well" but has some trouble speaking and gets tired fastly.
gcreptile 10,929 Posted November 13, 2022 Last August Gunther Von Hagens plastinated his father who reached 106 years of age: https://www.bz-berlin.de/berlin/gunther-von-hagens-plastiniert-seinen-vater Gunther himself has trouble speaking but is doing well enough.
